  1. Any PR holder have the experience to help family members(I mean parents here) to apply for Non-O visa? Does it have to be extended every year or it can be the same validity as long as i have the PR? Is there any website or documents containing relevant information that I can refer to ? Thank you in advance.
  2. I am glad you have it done successfully , 4 months is really way too long... In my case, i waited about 2 weeks or so, and then was invited back to the district office and had the interview done. Relatively smooth for me.
  3. Thank you for the information. I am not really concerned about bank or mortgage. Just for a thai citizen, they could buy land/house/condo at a Thai price and have more options, I hope PR holders could have the same benefit but obviously it is not possible. Good lucky with your filing for the Thai citizenship. I may do the same when the time comes.
  4. Hi everyone here, I just got my permanent residency in Thailand this year. Now I am looking at different properties and have interest to have a place of my own. 1) Except for the benefit of "no need to transfer payment from overseas to buy property“, is there any other benefit that i could enjoy as a permanent resident when I buy property? 2) Can I buy a townhouse or detached house under my name? Or condo and apartment are the only options? 3) when I search on some app, i saw listings indicates"foreigner quota" or "Thai quota", does it mean as a foreigner , only the ones with "foreigner quota" make sense to me? 4) I am not really in a rush , now it is a good timing to buy or i should wait for 5 years after I become a Thai citizen? At that time, i could have more choices and lower price? Thank you for any comment.
  5. Yes you are right, the immigration called to inform. How about the tabien baan registration, did you have to go in for an interview in the second time in district office or amphor to get name registered and pink ID?
  6. Hello Sir, How did it go afterwards? I am now in the stage of entering my name into friend's tabien baan. The whole PR process is like jumping through hoops. At the district office, the handling guy told that he needed to confirm with immigration and police, then he will ask me back for an interview later(donot know when...). And I had to leave with uncertainty. I hope it will not be too long for them to come back to me.
  7. It is true, really annoying. Most of the residence would not help with house registration.
  8. They only provide limited documents eg. for extend or renew visa, i think they donot want to go further. i cannot force them.
  9. Hello , I am in the process of PR, and i got the list of document required for obtaining certificate of residence from immigration today. In the list, #3 document requires to provide "original and copy of house registration (certificate true copy)and checking the name of the local police station in which jurisdiction your home is?". So if i am only renting the house , how can i get this house registration? I see some previous post that people use their Thai friends' house registration. Are there other options? And do i need to have my name added on the house registration before i show to the immigration department? Thank you for the answers!
  10. @scorecard actually i donot remember which address i left on file when i applied PR, i believe immigration should have both addresses of mine.
  11. Hello , I have two questions, could anyone reply me? - if the PR approve letter is sent, they will send to the address of office or to home? Will they call to inform in advance? If not, what if the letter got lost? - I saw on some post saying that the receiver needs to report back to Immigration within 7 days of receiving the letter. But if at that time, i am travelling outside of the country and could not come back on time , will that lead to cancellation of the PR? Thank you for answering
  12. Hello , I read some old posts dated back to 10-20 years ago regarding the Pr process, the approving waiting time can vary depending on the year. i am curious to know how long it takes from application to approval nowadays? when did you apply and when did you get approval letter? And Is it necessary to extend the 6 months "Pr waiting stamp" even if i have valid non-b visa? Anyone who has successful experience, could you share me yours? Thank you!
  13. I have called my immigration officer, she said it is handled by different departments so she is not very clear about it. I am in the same situation, i donot work much in the office location and i had very little connection with my neighbors.
  14. Hello , i applied for PR in Thailand and went through the interview in April this year. Then i was told that there would be officers visiting my workplace and residence randomly , and asking questions around as one of the process. However, two months after the interview, no officer came so far. Is this right? Normally when will these officers appear at the door? And if anybody who they ask says something wrong, will it affect my application? I am just a bit worried because normally i am not in the office to be present if they come to visit. Highly appreciated if anyone with such experience can answer my questions.
