Thanks for the info guys. Just 1 question though, think someone mentioned before the birth must be registered with the embassy? Is this so and if so does this have to be done before applying for the citizenship?
thanks

Hey mate, thanks for that, by registered is that the same thing as applying for the citizenship or should this be done first? Also does our marriage have to be registered with the aus embassy? Didnt notice it even saying the marriage certificate was needed in the required documents.
Did they require more things thats stated on the website? Bit of a trip there and back for us so just wanna make sure got everything.
Cheers

Hey guys thanks for all the answers. Just back from the amphur here in chonburi and got it successfully. Got a form from the chonburi hospital first then took that to the amphur, we couldve done it at the hospital and apparently is exactly yhe same but just to be safe went to amphur.
To clarify some responses,im not sure if it differs from amphur to amphur but here only the thai parent can register it (wr are married), but only my name can appear as father, i.cannot register the certificate or sign it.
Also i enquired about the official form for registering me as the father just incase but again this isnt allowed if married.
The whole thing is free and even though the amphur is busy i believe we were the only one doing a birth certificate so pretty qyick and easy.
By the way anyone thinking about having a baby at chonburi hospital, even tho its a public hospital and very busy i would totally recommend it,especially if you can get a private room after the birth. Its cheap and if ur wife has social insurance we actually made alot more money from the birth than it cost us. The nurses and doctor we used were all fantastic. It helped being a foreigner though i think as i didnt see any other foreigners there the whole 3 days i was there and they seemed to make more of a fuss about us.
Any info pls pm me.

where is the best/easiest embassy to do a multi entry tourist visa? thanks
I would try Vientiane or Savankhet, Laos, perhaps KL, Malaysia.
aus passport need visa for laos yeah? trying to do it without using too many pages in my passport so maybe KL then. although noticed on thai immi site for Kl it only has single entry price and way more requirements, have you or anyone else obtained double entry from KL and what exactly did they want to see? ta

Go to the Thai Embassy in Laos, fill out a form for a visa, mark it double entry. I think it is two photos you need, it could be one, I forget. Pay 2,000 Bhat and give them your passport. Applications are done in the morning, and you pick up your passport and visa the following day in the afternoon. That should give you 2, 60 day entries. Each can be entended for another 30 days at your local immigration office.
Pick up the application inside the gates in a box attached to the building. Glue and tables are provided to fill out the form.
is laos the best/easiest place to get a tourist visa? also do you mean after the first 60 days can extend 30 more then leave and re-enter and get another 60 days plus 30 day extension? how long are the tourist visas normally valid for though?
thanks

hey mate, speak to Andrew Pitts who works there and he might be able to get you a game with a member, you would still have to pay the members guest rate though.
-
hey sidelines, yeah you have a very valid point, so does Thaworn. ive also spoken with some of the thai players and they feel the same way about the field, they think there should be at least 10 or 20 thai spots but have only been given 4. It is suppose to be the asian tours season ending event, i guess similar to the race to dubai for europeans so yeah it doesnt make much sense why theyve invited so many europeans.
as for the money aspect, its always a bit of a secret how much appearance fees certain players get but your figures would be lose im sure. Although alot of those players and big name thai players have said theyre donating alot to the relief, so i guess will wait and see how much.
In the end sporting events still need to go ahead and if certain companies want to sponsor them we are lucky to have that, ultimately i would say the government should be responsible for relief efforts.
nway, it should be a good week of golf.
cheers

yeah got a great field, aswell as all the top thai and asian tour players will be playing. will be tough to beat mcilroy n westwood though.
-

Exit over the border and return to get 15 days by land.

-
so if i entered on a aus passport and got 30 days here can i only extend 7 days now? i thought it was 14?

Liver cancer rates in eastern Thailand are among the highest in the world.
The causes are various like parasites from uncooked fish and other foods and alcoholism.
Seems to be avoidable with education and some medical/herbal remediation.
HIV/Aids is the overall highest cause of death in Thailand.
Motor vehicle accidents death and injury rate in Thailand is among the highest rates in Asia.
Lots of opportunities to change behaviors but this is Thailand and change is slow at best.
thanks. yeah behavioral illness are a bit hard to help with. i was looking for more the type of problems that people are living with because they are basically too poor to be able to fix. maybe like people with cataract problems that with surgery could see again and live a normal life, get employment etc and then help their family instead of being a burden on them. I was hoping could help someone like this then also provide some training or studying afterwards to help them get a job etc. Especially a child who could then get a proper education etc.
i guess the doctors or hospitals here could point me in the right direction. was hoping to hear from someone who has contacts or even has a family member that has had an injury/illness or defect fixed and now lives a normal, healthy life.

How does the insurance work with these rental bikes? Do they honestly not have insurance and your responsible for any damages or do they have it and just charge you anyway?
