  1. I went to another hotel in same group to meet with the Group reservations manager. He was not surprised that the on site staff in my location could not produce this, but he told them what to do and hey presto!
  2. I'm staying in a major reputable chain but they say cannot provide TM30. But they are preparing a letter confirming my current non extended stay. Will this be ok?
  3. Am sure someone can give me a quick n simple response on this. Just arrived on 30 day stamp and now find need to stay 15 days longer than the stamp's expiry. Am in Sathorn, nearby Suanphlu immigration. Despite having had multiple work permits, never been in this situation. Easy to get extension and can get at Suanphlu? Thanks!
  4. Thai partner, holding valid British and expired Thai passport, tried to enter on expired Thai passport last month. Absolute refusal and told must use British passport. Escalated to senior immigration official who confirmed cannot be used for entry as 'an invalid travel document'. Newly issued Thai ID card no use whatsoever. So that's last month. This week, Thai friend, also based in UK with British passport, also refused entry on expired Thai passport and had to use British. Good news is that replacing Thai passport simplicity itself, PROVIDING that you have moined the e-queue a month in advance.
  5. That's great, thanks. I've had SCB account since 2005. Any advice as to a decent reliable agent to use?
  6. I'm impressed with the visa knowledge of some of you guys and wonder if you can advise me on this. I'm 63, British, currently in the UK, in a legally recognised civil partnership with a Thai. We've been together for 26 years, civil partnered fo 8 years. I've spent 34 years in Thailand, 8 of those working full time for a BOI approved co, but that's just FYI history. Plan was to retire in the UK, but have decided far better in Thailand. So, what visa should I apply for? I'll be living in Bangkok. No work. Can satisfy retirement visa financial conditions by placing a non-touchable THB 800k in a Thai bank account. Wondering if Thai authorities recognise our UK civil partnership and would issue a marriage visa? Appreciate a long shot. I want to retain the ability to travel overseas from Bangkok at short notice. I expect you to say enter on a 45 day stamp, deposit 800k from overseas and apply for retirement, but would welcome any other possibilities. Thanks for your time. PS. I'll need a decent healthcare policy. Any good broker recommendations ?
