  1. @Mike Lister maybe its not a "workaround" but in generally Mahanakorn Partners should be a reliable source.
  2. 8. An individual who has resided and worked abroad for an extended period and subsequently brings their accumulated savings or income from foreign sources into Thailand is not subject to tax. This exemption applies because the income was earned in tax years when the individual was not residing in Thailand for at least 180 days. https://mahanakornpartners.com/clarifications-on-personal-income-tax-for-foreign-sourced-income-key-questions-and-answers/ I think this is interesting sounds like a new loophole 😂.
  3. Maybe they have a significant reason to approve the 20 Extensions first. We waiting since end July but only for the 5 Year visa...
  4. For me Elite Visa is not expensive because in germany i need a mandatory health insurance and a car that makes living much expensiver then living in BKK with cheaper insurance, no car and a nice condo.
  5. I have same feedback from our Agent. Also i asked TPC directly via email and will post when they reply.
  6. Here is the end of deadline in the Pattaya Mail but the risk of a price increase for the upgrade still seems to exist: https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/thailand-elite-cancels-visa-change-at-the-last-minute-438274
  7. Maybe they need "equivalent membership type" because they discontinue ESE but granting existing members the same price with a new name. They wrote "equivalent" then the price shouldn't really differ? But nobody knows right... Other question is whether the content of the letter only applies to members or also for applications made before 15 Sept. received?
  8. We submitted Elite Easy Access on the end of July and are waiting for approval. Than our Agent told us we should think about upgrading to the 20 Extension because of the Elite "relaunch". So we are organizing "EASY PEASY" another 20k for upgrade...???? Hopefuly the end of this "deadline scam" is true! Now all the Agents are so silent... Can someone else confirm or post the "no deadline anymore email" from Thailand Elite? ????
  9. do you have any official proof of that (or is that your opinion) or is there an official definition for "business carried on in Thailand"?
  10. Its germany but i think most DTA are similiar. The Thailand/German DTA regulates that tax is to be paid where the work is done. In the case that somone work from a condo in Thailand and in his homeland he has two tax offices who are responsible. This is time-consuming and you are forced to apply for a thai tax number. Maybe Thailand will waive the income tax if it is taxed in the home country...
  11. yes but if the authorties think that a "business carried on in Thailand" (accroding to section 41 of the Revenue Code) generated income can be taxable from day 1 in Thailand. Question is what is "business carried on in Thailand"
  12. I think the same with regard to work permits and visas i'm not too worried. But what happens if thai income tax arises? Then you would have to apply for a tax number for income without wp maybe here starts then a problem?
  13. Hello, I am a freelancer and can work remote with a laptop and internet from my condo. I work exclusively for my clients in my home country. I would like to work from Thailand remote for 6-9 months a year. For this I want a Thailand Elite visa. I know it's a gray zone when it comes to work permits. But do i have to pay income tax in Thailand when i already pay income tax in my home country?
