  1. Snowbirds will not stay more then 178 days mate.
  2. Drug wars in France for instance. You have criminals using assault rifles to shoot in broad daylight aiming their competition and just sprey bullets in mad frenzy and kill bystanders who have nothing to do with it. So yes, France is highly dangerous for anybody now. Not to mention the attacks on tourists to rob them in touristic spots of Paris or Marseille.
  3. Europe has for long opened it's doors to many unwanted people fleeing their nations on various motivations. Terrorists or criminals sneak into such groups that are obivously not all baddies and set up shop in western europe. The western countries are ruled by Bruxelles and thus cannot expel the unwanted very easyly. Europe is dooming itself in letting such people remain within it's borders. Take the quality migrants and refugees who are educated by all means. But send the trouble makers or those living off the system back home or pay another country to take them.
  4. Time to sell and relocate in a more friendly country in Asia that welcome foreigners with less hassles for visas, less hassles to open bank accounts or converting a driver licence, cheaper prices, hot ladies, cheaper booze etc. No more reporting, TM' forms to fill for anything etc etc....Why do you think that the markets are flooded with properties to sell all over Thailand ?
  5. And the USA on the other hand are arming and financing other "dictatorships". So it's a balance. Who cares if Russia deals with Thailand ? What the majority here are rightfully worried about is the tax changes next year and if long stay tourist visas will be given with less hassle to quality european tourists (90 day visa exempt). Buying Russian oil will lower inflation in Thailand and that's what matters.

Last time I rented this place in a swanky pool villa developpment in Hua HIn, I peeped into a few houses around, that were brand new dated only a few years, and the paint was already cripping from the walls outside. The place was run by farangs but apparently bad quality work remained the norm.
  7. Only a fool would want to go back to those horrific regions.
  8. Cash just cash !!...cash rules....but watch the cash in the pocket against the thieves of course.
  9. Beware of a doubtful site that is can have a confusion address, Could be somewhat of an agent or god knows what and publishes that they handle the reporting. I would think twice before giving them my details. Only use the official website of immigration.
  10. Remember to monitor how the issue on tax towards foreign revenue in Thailand is progressing. It could be of importance on the OP's plans.
  11. You are referring to the largent pension in Norway. But sorry to say, but Blackrock that is a US institutionnal fund has multiple portfolios to manage the funds from a large array of US pension funds as well as others. So it not not directly the pension funds purchasing but those who manage their funds...can you make the difference if I may kindly ask ?
  12. People first come as tourists before wanting to settle down, so it is all connected. No to mention tourists are also often related or friends of with expats or retirees living in Thailand. It's often connected.
  13. Thai's will buy obviously but no more foreigners.
  14. OP should watch his nuts as most of the hot girlies offering their hired relationship, have many other "sponsors" on their string, Watch out for STD's as Hiv and Aids are widely spread in Thailand. I would not try any such rubbish with a wife and kids back home and risk bringing back some STD or other infection or virus.
  15. Any city is english friendly for the hansum farang and his mainly his friendly ca$h
  16. Maybe they are too drunk to behave badly ?
  17. May not work or be offered by Wise in every country.
  18. If only one plot of land with the house is permitted, there is no risk of speculation. It's not like having all the major US institutional or pension funds to buy up and grab all the prime developpments in Bangkok or Phuket, It's just about fairness in allowing a foreigner on leasehold who has paid for a house, to own one single plot of land and furthernore, this issue was already on the table of the policy makers.
  19. Wlll they continue to have those over tight uniforms that make them look skinny ? How about banning those bribes required to get a posting or a career progress ? How about rewarding honesty rather then enforcing bribery ?
  20. Switch OFF is good...to unplug is better... as even when just put on OFF it does consume electricity, Very little yes, but it does. Get a IP webcam to check if the housekeeper is doing her job.
  21. 1. CCTV for security and to watch via a phone or computer app. Something like Arlo or Ezwiz 2. Hire a house managment service company (reliable one) who will come in monthly to clean air the place and you monitor what they do via CCTV on your phone app or computer. Or hire some security company to come over daily 3. no valuables around, 4. look into getting a wifi ventilation system or a smart plug for your aircon-heater (philipps Hue for ex) that you can turn on -off via internet this works as much as when you are abroad or in Thailand. good luck
  22. If they want tourists and quality retirees to come they should immediatly apply the following. 1. make visa issues with less paperwork requirements and hassles like the absurd certified copies or triple stamp notorised translations that Consulates abroad are asking 2. stop all those absurd residence certificates that banks and administrations ask on formalities 3. grant a 5 year multiple entry visa to all those who own property on leasehold and give them a fast and simple access to convert their foreigh driver licence and bank account with no hassle or absurd requirements 4, enforce the law and ban dishonest taxi drivers from cheating foreigners on refusing rides or refusing the meter 5, ban dual pricing 6. allow foreigners to own their land for one house and force the land owners who have leased land to sell if the house has been paid for in leasehold 7. sack any police officer trying to get a bribe from a foreigner 8. ban all those absurd TM forns for reporting one's own home or having to report when foreigners come over to stay in one's house 9.......of course, none of this will ever happen !!!...so tourism numbers may grow but tourism money will fall as once the toursts are cheated on the first day by a taxi at Bangkok airport, they just won't want to spend their money so freely.
  23. Maybe the instructor positions in the Acadamey are considered the famous "inactive posts" ?
  24. A tproper horough and efficient medical exam should be conducted before admitting those poor young lads into the ruthless Academy. Proper screening on the instructors could also be useful. Mainly to avoid all the mental retards in the job who could take out their issues on their recruits. Rip to the poor chap.
