  1. I was over with a woman at her place. She started getting non-stop phone calls while we were making whoppee. We just ignored it, but eventually someone started knocking on the front door and would not leave. I went into the bathroom to take a shower and she let him into the home, probably to get rid if him, as it was the only exit. He started bitching about me being there and I had to lock the bathroom door. He lunged at me while I was leaving. He was hiding on the balcony and fell over a glass coffee table. I was able to get away and it looked like a pretty serious fall. Just be warned, if you meet people in nightlife situations and go back to their rooms it can be very dangerous. You don't know who will come in. He could have easily kicked in the bathroom door and possibly had some type of weapon, knife from the kitchen, whatever. He could also have slipped on the balcony and it would look like we scuffled in the unit.
  2. I would suggest going up through Marin, Stinson, Point Reyes, Muir Woods, along Hwy 1 towards Fort Bragg next time. Camp along the coast or use bed and breakfasts. You should not have that problem scene near the ocean. I have relatives in that west bay area and it was almost like Mexico last time I visited. That was several years ago.
  3. I have found that Thai's don't do things correctly and many are poorly educated. You just got lucky and I hope you have no problems in the future.
  4. Does anyone have the link to the video this bloke did?
  5. What hotels, price points and city were you at? Were they Mexicans? I am from that area but have not been back in years. Am thinking of visiting family, but don't remember hotels being that bad.
  6. Many guys drink a lot so it does not really matter. That's probably why the story mentions regular beer purchases of three bottles at a time. An odd thing to throw in there, unless it's a Uk thing. When you are buzzed that 8k room and 50 baht meal seems great, or you just don't notice.
  7. Turn off the water unless wetting or rinsing. Don't just let it run the whole time. Get a toggle switch and turn off the refrigerator at night and when it's near empty. Don't leave chargers plugged in when not in use. Develop a non-wasteful mindset and you will find that your utility bills are not an issue.
  8. Are you paying for your partner? That doubles the amount of money you need.
  9. What does he do in a suburb of Bangkok? Sit in his room on the computer all day? Without knowing the language and with no real social ties he won't last there long unless he has no other options, but he won't starve.
  10. It's hard when you are sedated.
  11. The high season thing is just a way of getting attention. It's similar to the constant talk about tourist numbers or the moto guy clapping at you on the corner. Thai's equate noise, chatter and attention with money. The worst thing is to be ignored.
  12. Could be. If he did it out on the chair which I clearly saw his hands down his trunks, he would probably do it in the pool also. I would post video here for your opinion but I don't think it's allowed. He kind of just stands there in the pool looking around at people and not moving much or slightly bobbing up and down which seems not really normal, but after I caught the diddling on the lounger I started thinking about the strange standing around in the pool. The pool is usually empty though, so there is that. Kind of an older odd guy who is around the pool every day. I have never seen him with a woman either. Central Pattaya. I'm feeling more and more like he has some perv thing going on, but I'm not sure exactly what. I'm not a pool guy so it's not a huge issue for me. Fortunately, he never uses the gym or sauna so I'm Ok. There may be a lot of pervs in central pattaya though. So just be aware of that on your next vacation. It probably attracts a lot if people with strange sexual issues.
  13. Your friend probably does not want it blocking his driveway though.
  14. To keep using old phones and not buying new models.
  15. I don't think they allow that indefinately. They start refusing software updates to older phones don't they?
  16. I'm not sure, but have fun worrying about it for the next year...
  17. The guy who was touching himself poolside is at the pool nearly every day. Inside the pool. He does not swim, but rather bobs up and down in the pool like a bobby pin with arms straight down under the water. He moves in the water very slowly, so is not completely stationary, but is bobbing more then walking. It's pretty strange. I hope there is not something else going on, but it has me concerned. I'm not a big pool guy so don't go in often, but it's concerning to see. There are not many people in the area, but it could be some sort of self diddling that has nothing to do with other people, but rather just being out there.
  18. There seems to be a lot of ADHD in Thailand. It probably looks like rushing to most people.
  19. You're usually doing a whiskey and coke in the morning by that time.
  20. A lot of people here need the a/c for anything and everything. They are not fresh air people. I don't blame you. When the huffer puffer guy works out without his shirt on it makes one wonder. Remember, there's a/c in there. Let's just say I don't drop the soap or get too friendly. Best case scenario is that he is trying to impress himself.
  21. I don't use my gym much unless it's empty. I don't like breathing others people's air. One guy huffs and puffs and I feel like I'm breathing the guy in if I work out while he is in there.

A lot of computers offer encrypted hard drives. So if someone tries to bypass the usual password, biometrics, etc by booting from another computer it locks out. Ditto if they open the back panel and try to physically remove the drive. It's not possible for law enforcement level technicians to decrypt the drive to find what's on it.

Lots of things are misinterpreted here. Better to not have it.
