  1. Up to the officer most likely. You won't really know how strict they will be about the evisa being attached to an old passport. What would worry me in your case is you needing to have the issuing embassy redo it, which is not in Thailand.
  2. I don't think they care as long as you are in their country (they ask to see the entry stamp and permission to stay date). The question is what would Thai immigration do on arrival. They would probably stamp you in knly one way, not both. Either the DTV or the re-entry permit.
  3. It was a land grab. Nobody cares about a few hostages on either side.
  4. Let's face it. You should not be paying for a woman, man... When payment is required, you have lost your manhood. People are around for one reason only, your cash... Time to up your game. 🕺
  5. I don't think Pattaya is what you are looking for. Good idea on the monthly rental before you decide. The thread is old. Did you make a permanent move to Pattaya? How do you like it?
  6. I found one where I rent directly from the condo building. The room is cared for and they know what they are doing. Skip private owners and agents altogether if you can. I'm also not locked into a year lease. Private owners who rent out in Pattaya probably have a lot of problems. Likely financial problems and a long history of difficulties with people damaging the units, partying, not being around to monitor the place, etc. That's the vibe I got anyway, like something was not right.
  7. You are moving back to Texas permanently? Did your daughter come over with you or is she a Thai citizen?
  8. Storage always seems to become an issue. I sold off most of my parents stuff because they could not afford to store it indefinately and nobody with space wanted to take it, probably because they felt like they were storing it for free for someone else, or maybe they just did not want it. I always regretted being the one ending up doing it though, just giving away stuff for peanuts at a garage sale.
  9. Why would you as a collector of that magnitude sell all your tapes?
  10. We will probably never see that same rock scene again from the 80's-90's, at least not the live metal and punk scene. It was a unique decade and not something that will just continue indefinately. One day you turn into an old man listening to strange Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin albums on some strange turntable and the kids never heard of it...
  11. There is a small shop in Pattaya across from Sunday House Cafe near the railroad tracks for shoe repair.
  12. I wonder how the address and contact could be changed if needed? Maybe electronically? Perhaps online with that ID.Me system. That's pretty robust. I had to do a live video interview when I lost my password a while back. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Are the new ones still valid for 10 years?
  13. On my US passport there is actually a fill in space for contact address on the first page (not laminated bio page). It may be worth a try to type in (so it looks more official) your home address there and tell them that's part of the legal document (which it is).
  14. You get a lot of dumb clerks that don't know what they are doing. Keep trying different banks and/or branches. It's the reason why I never opened an account here. Not the ID, just inconsistency. Also, not wanting to deal with them if I ever had problems withdrawing the money on account closure.
  15. I think I would just crank one out before buying 10 drinks, unless I was having a super night out.
  16. ThaiVisa was actually worse, even with all the strict moderation. That's where you got the really nasty comments on every thread. People were getting constantly banned and just re-surfacing under different names. I rather enjoyed it...
  17. Many of them are too broke to pay those things, or they have done that in the past and have run out of money. They can usually be found at places like pattaya pad and nirun and prefer to drink in their rooms or at the run down bars on soi arunatai. Often shuffling back and forth from the big c food court pattaya klang for some cheap eats.
  18. A lot of the guys down there are losers. Just guys that are paying to get laid. They don't get much respect even from the bargirls...
  19. It's not vanilla sex. It's about perverts doing strange bizarre stuff and kinks that don't involve sexual stamina.
  20. A skint guy with a beer on one hand and a hooker on the other. Does he spend his spare time yachting and playing polo? Totally, dude...
  21. If that were true they would have left already.
  22. View those things as lack of restraint and control (not fun) and you have your answer.
