US Eyes Five-Year Social Media Check for Foreign Visitors
Its happening already; ESTA requires submission of social media account names. Its not clear if anything is actually done with it. And, for those who do want to cause trouble, I suspect relatively easy to circumvent. The concerning thing is not what the American government will know about you; they won't know much because they don't have the resources, but how secure is that data held. The vast vast majority of tourists will bear the US no ill will. About 80 million people visit the US each year for touristic purposes, plus about 5-6 million business travelers. The amount of data on social media is staggering. Facebook generates 5 petabytes of date per day, everything from stupid cat photos to hate content, and everything in between. Thats 5 million gigabytes. About 500 million Tweets a day are sent, 100 million IG posts per day. There are 3 billion active Facebook accounts. The global population is 8 billion. 1.7 billion fof those accounts are in Asia and Europe. The US government generates about 1000 petabytes of data a year; an educated guess based on 2009 estimates. If we assume all 80 million visitors to the US have at least one social media account, then to analyse 5 years of data, the US needs to process 250 petabytes a year, and not only that, process searches within the typical 4-5 working days, and keep within the fee being charged, a 25% increase in the current workload. When Snowden the Traitor defected, he lifted the lid on the activities of the NSA, and the potential for intrusion into the lives of private citizens. That caused consternation from both sides of the political divide. That was 12 years ago. But some questions to be asked to Americans, irrespective of political hue. Do you always trust the IRS to get your taxes assessed correctly? Do you ever have billing problems with Medicare? Traffic light and speed cameras are quite rare in the US. WOuld you trust them to collect data on vehicles accurately? This might be a case of the cart before the horse; a policy that actually can't be followed. I might be wrong, and perhaps technical experts might comment further, from an apolitical point of view. If they really do have that capability, how come these child sex offenders seem to get away with so much, apparently unnoticed by the authorities?

US Eyes Five-Year Social Media Check for Foreign Visitors
I suspect its largely theatre. Visa applications have required this information for quite some while now, and for my last ESTA, I needed to disclose information. How much is actually checked? If a former Afghan Commando, who had been through multiple developed or positive vetting over a 10 year period could somehow suddenly post a load of very dodgy material on the internet that doesn't draw the slightest interest, I have my doubts. And how does GDPR impact this? Any organisation that provides access within the EU has GDPR responsibilities. GDPR protection extends to everyone on the planet, if at any time their data has been processed through the EU. GDPR includes the right to be forgotten, which deletion of identifiable data. As a result, most local US news sites are now blocked in the EU. The major issue is the third party trackers; if you have a site thats funded through adverts. Not only does that complicate things from the perspective of COntrollers, but there is added complication about obtaining contents. The extension of GDPR-like legislation around the world is likely to result in increased parochialism of the internet.

US plans to start checking all tourists' social media
Which is all very well, but on the 4th of December, on this forum, you called the British Head of State, and his son, greedy pigs. Which isn't the first time you have expressed critical opinions of various national politics (it seems that to hold an opinion is evidence of a wish to interfere in the US political system, ie. you feel this forum has the power to make people change their minds (their voting intentions), rather than what it actually is, a jumble of rather pathetic characters (many are divorcees/absentee dads, some are incels, some are sexual degenerates), strangers to each other, chewing the cud. So you hold your tongue selectively. Or do you mean, while in Thailand, you bite your tongue, but when outside of Thailand, you feel you can criticise Thai politics? What is your opinion of Vice President Vance criticising British and German domestic politics while on an official visit to those countries? Exercising his freedom of expression, or something else?

Putin desperate for soldiers
Which President went to prison over the Vietnam War draft dodgers exercising their conscience? US military deserters during the GWOT I had a Great Uncle who deserted during WW1. They found him under the kitchen table, and dragged him back. Another was a Bevin Boy, who had enough of digging out coal. They found him, and he went on trial, but he played the system, buying enough time that the war was all but over, so he took the option of uniform, time served. By the time he finished Basic, the war was over. 21,000 Americans deserted during WW2, resulting in 49 death sentences. 6000 were arrested for draft evasion, which meant someone went to their home, and dragged them off in handcuffs. How Draft dodgers' arrests were reported in WW2 https://www.nytimes.com/1943/05/16/archives/144-seized-in-city-as-draft-dodgers-638-arrested-in-nation-as-the.html 144 SEIZED IN CITY AS DRAFT DODGERS; 638 Arrested in Nation as the F.B.I. Intensifies Its Drive Against the Slackers 144 SEIZED IN CITY AS DRAFT DODGERS https://www.nytimes.com/1943/03/09/archives/52-men-rounded-up-as-draft-violators-fake-lieutenant-and-a-wife.html In WW1, America saw the emergence of Slacker Raids; vigilantes going out to round up men. In September 1918, these gangs, in New York alone, stopped and questioned half a million men, setting up road blocks in the city. 61,000 were arrested, 1500 sent to detention camps. These gangs went through restaurants and bars, roughing up diners, looking for the "slackers" Spare me your hypocritical outrage, when you refuse to comment on the reports of Russian soldiers offering rewards for women to rape (like their grandads did I suppose),

Trump’s new doctrine: ready or not, Europe is on its own
Commies claim that. But it doesn't stack up. For a start, when it comes to the USSR, it was Belarusans and Ukrainians who did all the dying on behalf of the Russians. And when it comes to "Liberation"; I suspect the populations of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czechoslavakia, Hungary, and East Germany felt all that liberated, all 67 million of them (estimated 1945 population). Their reward for saying goodbye to the Nazis was extra judicial killings, mass rape and the Gulag. On the contrary, US lead Western forces truely liberated over 200 million people in the West. Soviet advances, usually at the point of a NKVD party official at the back, were only possible because Lend-Lease prevented a complete rout of Soviet forces early in the war. When the Soviets got to Berlin, it wasn't in Russian trucks, it was mostly in American made Fords and Packards. When Soviet troops went to sleep at night with full bellies, it was bellies filled with American Spam. All made possible by those Anglo-American Arctic convoys who endured the worst to keep Stalin in the war. People who delighted in listening to Radio Moscow in the 70s and 80s are always the first to big up the Russian contributtion to the War, and to denigrate, where possible, the Western Forces representing the Free World. People say "but so many Soviet died". Yes they did, largely because of the stupidity of their leaders, after Stalin had most of the competant officers killed off. The Soviet leadership were profligate with the lives of their people, because they really didn't care about individuals. Because they were communist. On the contrary, Churchill showed on numerous occasions his solidarity with the sufferings of ordinary people. But communists don't understand that, and will always resort to "Yeah, but Russia...." to defend their vacuous genocidal ideology.

Putin is a terrorist and Russia is a terrorist state
Another Russian sychophant. Its funny how people lap up Russian propaganda and don't understand timelines. The source of the claim this Commie Lover was parroting was based on an analysis by Agora, a Russian organisation, comparing 2017 data from Russia and 2017 data from the UK, and then distorts. But since this idiot likes being Pro-Russian, anti-British, he just lapped it up. Agora said 411 criminal cases were brought against internet users in Russia in 2017. A number for the UK was based on a FOI requestion by The Times, showing there were 3,395 arrests for Section 127 Offences "Online Abuse", resultingn in 1696 charges being brought. Section 127 covers all forms of electronic communications, not jut social media, and so covers Email and SMS messaging. Russian propagandists hope that dimwits don't understand the difference between a criminal case being made and an arrest, and so compare apples tom oranges, and the performing seals don't notice. The UK numbers all offences online, including illicit sexual material, so this Russia apologist is apparently suggesting its a good thing that the Russians are softer on nonces than the British, or they think people should lay off "young love". Also, Russia are soft on terrorists, because the British statistics include terrorism offences. All of the Russian arrests/gulag are people who criticise the government. The British numbers include those plotting terrorist outrage, sexual abusers, those who share dick photos etc. Go live in Russia if you think its a Freedom of Speech paradise. You can go join that failed Tory Parliamentary Candidate who's got himself shacked up in Moscow to facilitate emigration of fresh cannon fodder.

Trump wants to recreate a white America that never existed
The UK does no vetting of visitors leaving the UK for the US. Screening is done by the US. B/F/M and J-visa checks are entirely done by the US. The UK does screen travelers, in that they record who is leaving. A bit like Laos when all the forum members do their border runs to keep staying in Thailand without a pesky visa. Which of those countries you list have no passport controls or ticket inspection. You seem to think they all do.

House Democrats Release Unseen Photos From Epstein’s Island
You're not thinking big enough. This isn't a Republican v Democrat thing. Trump was just a tool in the whole scheme, like Andrew Battenberg-Windor, Peter Mandalson and many others. Consider how Mossad and the KGB worked together https://thegeopolitics.com/mossad-and-kgb-cooperation-a-strategic-paradox-in-cold-war-intelligence/ There is a fallacy to think that Western Powers and Israel are on the same side. They are not. We coincide at times. Israel is on Israels side. The founders of that country hated Britain, perhps with justification. They also won't forget that had the America First Committee, which did have popular support, succeeded in WW2, the Jewish people would be no more. We are useful to their ambitions, but our ideologies do not align. Generally in modern Western democracies, we abhor the idea of a theocratic state. Its not so clear cut in Israel, where the fate of the nation is so intertwined with a religion. The founding basis of the State of Israel means there is no accomodation, on an equal basis in society, with Christians or Muslims. Not all Israeli politicians are of that mind, but there is a particular partof Israeli society, mostly drawn from Russia, that believes that, and is in the ascendancy. https://www.catholicworldreport.com/2025/03/29/christian-communities-in-israel-face-growing-hostility-annual-report-reveals/

House Democrats Release Unseen Photos From Epstein’s Island
The screen grab doesn't capture the whole meaning of that clip. That screenshot captures two men in conversation, could have been about anything. The video gives a context. Its difficult to find raw footage, and there is lilely a lot more that has not been aired So two men, aged 46 and 39, at a party. Trump is bopping with an early version of the Jack-Off Gay dance, to Snap!'s "Rhythm is the Dancer. The men are on the sidelines, gawking at cheer leaders for a NFL team (1992). Lewd remarks are exchanged, likely a dirty joke. About 11 months after this, Trump's youngest daughter, Tiffany, was born out of wedlock, with Trump marrying the mother about 2 months later. At the time, this 46 year old, rather than being the batchelor described in the voice over, was a divorced single dad, with kids aged 15, 11 and 8. The very tall man arriving with Epstein, and briefly talking with Trump was Tom McMillen, a former basketball player/freak, and at the time, a Democrat congressman. Like Trump, McMillen says he didn't know Epstein. But his name appears in Epstein's black book. But there is further mukiness. Probably McmIllen inadvertantly captured the MO of Epstein. https://en.as.com/nba/this-is-the-ex-nba-player-who-appears-in-the-video-with-trump-and-epstein-i-feel-terrible-about-the-victims-f202512-n/ The interview mentions from the Epstein emails a certain Gwendolyn Beck asking Epstein about McMillen, and sharing some confidential information about possible Ambassadorships. Victoria Giuffre said Beck was part of the orgies on Epstein Island. She had known Trump for a long time, and was a regular at Mar-a-lago. During the 2016 campaign, she openly supported trump One is reminded of Robert Maxwell. Ostensibly, he was a Labour Party supporter, owning the Mirror group. In reality, he cultivated close acquaintances across the political spectrum. He worked for British Intelligence. But he was worked for Mossad, and it turns out, he worked for Russian Intelligence. He speciality was honeytrap blackmails. He was found dead after trying to blackmail the Israelis in November 1991. Epstein used to help Maxwell offshore his money, all the more so as Maxwell fell into debt (he had tried to hit up the Israelis for more money). Likely Robert Maxwell introduced Epstein to his daughter, not the other way around. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/04/01/jeffrey-epstein-helped-ghislaine-maxwells-father-robert-hide/ Curious One interpretation was that Ghislaine was trying to hide financial investigators efforts to track down an estimated £800m that went missing from the Mirror Group Pension Fund. Possibly, or she was instructed to scrub any connection between Epstein and Maxwell. Maxwell worked for the KGB and Mossad. Epstein is heavily connected to Mossad. There are serious theories that Epstein had also been cultivated by the Soviet Union in his early 20s. Did Robert Maxwell recruit him? Maxwell went to his grave remembered as a crook. But it seems like he was more. Donald Trump knew Robert Maxwell. Maxwell met Trump in 1989. Getting very strange. The Lady Ghislaine yacht was the boat Maxwell "fell" from. Trump said he knew Epstein from the "late 80s", about the same time Maxwell and Epstein started working together Idiots think this is a Republican-Democrat thing. No. Its Western Society (Free World)-Russian thing. Hybrid warfare to bring down our societies, aided by the corruption that exists in the Baby Boomer generation, that generation that benefited hugely from the efforts of their forefathers to beat theNazis, and survive the Depression, but grifted their way to comfortable retirements on the backs of their children, the Gen Xers, benefiting from property and share price rises. Putin doesn't care about Republican/Democrat/Tory/Labour. He's a dyed in the wool Communist, brought up remembering a dead brother killed by the Nazis, hating the Capitalist West. Anyone who isn;'t a communist, for him, is a Nazi, hence the language he described the Ukrainian leader, a Jewish Gen Xer. Putin was a man who, when in the DDR, delighted in funding terrorist groups murdering politicians in the West, and suppressing free thought in East Germany Besides leading members of American society, this Kompromet operation corrupted or attempted to corrupt British Royalty, the British political establishment and leading members of British society. It took the Duke of Wales, not a Baby Boomer, to say enough is enough, and lance the boil. https://tomorrowsaffairs.com/the-transnational-dimension-of-theepstein-casea-hybrid-warfare-against-the-west Yeltson might have been a sozzled old bastard, but this line from him indicates he knew what Vladimir Putin was all about; a man intent in destroying all of us. "Reddish". https://youtu.be/mrElgvnbVJQ?si=2hT1bAax8y78tHdJ&t=195 Many years later, the gay 3-way Jack-Off dance is perfected.

The alarming mental decline of Donald J. Trump -- watch this space
"Radical Extremist Leftist Socialistic Woke Wanna-bee"? Thats a new one. They want to be "Woke", whatever the hell that is, but they are not ("wanna-bee" (sic)). So I guess what you mean is Trump is annoying all those middle of the road, never rock the boat, mildly right wing, capitalistic reactionaries. I suppose that's true. Annoyed me. Will Hegseth be forced to resign?
Under the new National Security Strategy, the UK will not be allowed to have intelligence or military assets in the Caribbean. Commonwealth members and British overseas territories in the Western Hemisphere (the Caymans, Bermuda) would be required to swear fealty to the US. The strategy states there would be measures, unstated, taken if these countries and territories do not comply. The US has not commented on French Departments and Dutch possesions in the region. The strategy implies interference in the sovereign affairs of these European states. I don't see any reason for 5 Eyes to continue. The US has defined the criteria for alliances; alliances are expected to provide a 1 way benefit to the US. The European nuclear capability is 500 warheads, not as much as the US and Russia, but how much do you really need to destroy the world. The US doesn't pay a dime to the UK for use of forward operating bases in the UK. These bases are of considerable benefit to the US as it moves any front line 8000kms from the Homeland. Rent is owed, or leave. 48 hours to vacate. Equipments left will be declared property of the Crown. Not the UK's problem where 10,000 American families are going to live. The NSS removed all doubt where the US stands now, 24 years after 911.

US Factory Activity Shrinks by the Most in Four Months
Thing is, American car companies do sell cars in Japan, but oddly not in other RHD markets. SOme are LHD Others are RHD If there were American cars designed for Japanese roads, I'm sure more would be sold. American Fords in UK are sold in pretty small numbers; there is the Ford Mustang, but sales have fallen off a cliff, because it was really only being sold to people who were already American car enthusiasts, rather than people cross shopping other brands. Ford in Europe already has a range of cars developed for the European market. They don't need American Fords.

I see the usual suspects are out defending Mother Russia. They spend their waking lives looking for such stories. Ring Doorbells in 20198 Salisbury. Idiotic. They weren't even on sale in the UK until 2017, and hardly early adopters will not be on a street that is mostly housing association. Anyone who actually knows Salisbury knows that beyond the Cathedral, its quite a poor town. Wiltshire is one of the poorest counties in England. The writers saying this was a wealthy street have outed themselves and their backstory. A woman died because of this, and 4 others have suffered life changing injuries because of this reckless WMD attack by a Terrorist Attack. Maybe they shoukd go live in Russia if they love them so much. The <deleted> Russians are trying to say they are uphill gardener, in denying the allegations.

The Russian neo-Nazi group that posts images of war crimes
I see Soviet Whataboutism at work. These guys must be paid. Its a bit like objecting to the fight against the Nazis because of Boer War, Philippine-American War. Notably this Yagoda chap (Russian I assume) does not condemn the Russian solders from raping women. In fact indicates he approves of it, because allegedly the Ukrainians did the same , but covered up. Offers no proof, and just buggers off to collect his cheque, job done (always looking for stories critical of Russia, instructed to always counter them with "Yeah but Ukraine.....".). He saw the headline, and automatically thought "I better defend Z-Russians committing mass rape and murder".

Ukraine is winning the war
The USSR lost 15,000 conscript soldiers in Afghanistan. The Committee of Soldiers' Mothers of Russia (CSMR) was formed for soldier's mums to highlight the brutal nature of Soviet army service. They made public dedovshchina, or hazing. They helped make the war unpopular, and forced Gorbachov to pull out. The Soviets were as prone to public opinion as the Americans. Its different now. The USSR has gone. The USSR was made up of many different nationalities, with a certain amount egalatarianism. Thats all gone, and Putin is probably genuinely unhappy its gone. But the former Soviet republics don't want to go back. The modern Russian Federation is not the same. Its deeply racist. There is no sense that the non-Slavic minorities get a seat at the high table. Life in Moscow and St Petersberg is very comfortable, with a high standard of living. But get out into the sticks, where the non-Slavs live, and its grim. They are not benefiting from the revenues from oil and mineral sales. Russian law prohibits the use of conscript soldiers on the front line. So all those troops fighting are volunteers, "professional troops". That's altered the public's attitudes toward casulaties, compared to Afghanistan. Here's where Russian racism comes into it. Contract troops get a cash bonus, and this incentivises poor non-Slav Russians to join, so they are disproportionately dying: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/russias-ethnic-minorities-disproportionately-conscripted-to-fight-the-war-in-ukraine The CSMR these days represents these soldiers, and were initially supportive, because the money was benefiting their communities. But now they have started to turn against Putin. Some Russians believe the government is taking advantage of the war to practice some ethnic cleansing. Russian society has three tiers; at the top are the Slavs and non-Slav European Russians (eg Russians of German descent). In the middle are Asian minorities from the 'Stans and Siberia, a mixture of Christians and Buddhists. A the bottom is the dashiki; criminals and Russian muslims. The non-European Russians have no say. The Chechens have their own private army, often procuring their own non-Russian kit (eg Chinese equipment). Moscow, since the Chechen war, pays Kadyrov vast sums not to kick off. In return, Kadyrov offers up fearsome looking troops. They have all the kit, and are known to be brutal. But they also earned the reputation of being TikTik warriors, posing for videos in their gucci kit, and staged assaults against no one in particular. As long as the Kremlin can keep paying these groups off, they will keep providing a steadstream of cannon fodder. But the money is drying up, with the sign on bonuses much reduced and increasingly the provincial governments are footing the bill. There is growing opposition among minorities. Putin has labeled 172 ethnic and minority rights groups as terrorists. One of the leading non-Muslim minorities are the Buryats. SOme background: https://www.wilsoncenter.org/blog-post/russias-indigenous-communities-and-war-ukraine If the money dries up, there are problems. Reportedly, the heavy losses are demanding a heavy replacement rate. Putin could easily fix this by changing the law to allow conscripts. But he hasn't; Russians will be bothered about lads forced to fight and die, as opposed to lads fighting for money. If it came to full on conscription, both sides have enough men, and some, to slug it out. Both sides, for the same reasons, have not extended conscription. Even during WW2, the UK had high desertion rates during the period when it was struggling, As prospects improved, the desertion rate fell. At the start of WW1, jingoism on both sides was hgh, with high public support for the war. Britain went to war with professional soldiers, When it was forced to switch to conscripts, public disquiet increased. The experience meant that in WW2, the government employed units to monitor public opinion and morale. If Russia "wins", what have they actually one. A ruined Donbass. The local economy is in tatters. Ukraine might well accept that they cannot, at this stage, enforce a Russian pullout. Ultimately that might be something for a future Ukrainian government. They can though ensure that Russian occupation remains de facto, and doesn't become de jure. Once the occupation is internationally recognised, then money will pour in to rebuild the place. If it doesn't, then the place becomes a millstone for Moscow. it will be Moscow footing the bill, taking money away from programmes for other Russians, such as healthcare or education. That's might be why Putin has been shipping out Ukrainians to the 'Stans (these are Ukrainians who support in), and providing providing loans for Russian colonists to move in. https://cepa.org/article/behind-the-lines-ethnic-cleansing-by-home-loan/ So Russia is providing mortgages to people moving in. Compared to 2011, 80% of the population of the Donbass has gone, to be refugees in Ukraine or in Russia. So who's property are young Russians taking out mortgages on? Are abandoned properties really abandoned?

Trump Admin support White Supremacist "Great Replacement Theory"
https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/2025-National-Security-Strategy.pdf Either the author was geographically illiterate or Woke. There is no such country as "Britain". There is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, bordered by the Republic of Ireland, sometimes referred to as Eire. When the UK was "Great", it had an Empire. We fully expect the US government to therefore sanction Argentina until it drops its illegitimate claims to the Falkands Islands. Its ridiculous, the British Empire was ended upon the orders of a victorious American Empire. It cannot be restored. The UK cannot restore Ireland back within the UK. Ireland was never Great. A "few decades" is not the "long term". A child wrote this statement. Current projects are that, if current rates of immigration and emigration, and provided people still identify themselves in the same ethnic groups as now, the UK will be majority not identifying as "white" (aka European) by 2100. This statement is literally Great Replacement Theory. The US government employs, or at least used to employ, first rate demographic scientists who model population growth by country. The US Census Bureau was not behind this statement. This is not a serious statement. This is David Lane speaking from the grave. He died in prison. He wrote in 1988 the "White Genocide Manifesto". In this he claimed European Governments were plotting to make "white" people extinct. Kiddie murdering scumbag Anders Breivik wrote ie supporting the growth of extremist parties, which rather than bring stability, cause instability, which would suit the current US mindset. So Tommy Robinson. LOL. We know American tourists, when they visit, tend to be <deleted> ignorant of European characters and history. How would Vance, a Taigh, react if England revived its Papal burning tradition. England, traditionally, doesn't like Catholics. It sounds a lot like mythologising European traditions, with made up stuff that American understand. Himmler did this with made up Volk parades, reviving the idea of the Teutonic Knight. Complete <deleted>. So Germany ought to celebrate all of its (short) history, Kristalnacht reenactments? What's "genuine democracy"; Executive Orders, pardons for friends and families? We don't see America being particularly democratic, given Gerrymandering, the use of voting machines, efforts to dissuade voters from voting, exclusion of voters, voting station intimidation, lack of a free press. What I'm pretty sure is Americans would be outraged (rightfully, because the Labour Party tried this) if European diplomats attempted to overtly or covertly manipulate or influence US elections. The term "patriotic parties" implies other parties are not only not patriotic, but traitorous. I am outraged.

Trump wins the FIFA Peace Prize . . . 'needy' or what ?
The trophy is basically a copy of a sculpture sitting in Ariana park, Geneva, presented to mark 25 years of Azerbaijan membership of the UN. The same two Azeri artists were commissioned to sculpt it, so looks like easy job for them. https://www.ungeneva.org/en/about/director-general/michael-moller/activities/2017/10/art-donation-thoughts-and-desires-republic Seems a bit "Woke";
