  1. He didn't shut anyone down. They just looked like weak creeps hiding behind masks. There was no rapist/murderer there. Where is the proof of that? There is none. They just made that up to try to make her feel bad. Like little children. It didn't work. Just weak disgusting creeps jumping at any excuse to denigrate women.
  2. I understand your nostalgia for the way things were, but I'm going to have to put a spanner in the spokes in your claim of air conditioned rooms going for "max 500 baht". Maybe some back street hovel or room above a shop or bar, in a back street...or worse... Ap** Hotel, which is still up and running and possibly at the same price point now 😊 That's not to say that there weren't choices at 500 baht. But it certainly was not the max and the rooms were not desirable.
  3. All very predictable 😊 But I KNOW 😊 Run along now.
  4. Not a single moment of introspection... 😊 I don't need to discuss matters of moderation. I KNOW what happens. I see it with my own eyes. 'Rough' describes aptly how you've dealt with the English language in the post I have quoted.
  5. How do you know that I do not understand? You don't. You are only using it to attempt to deflect. As I wrote earlier, it's not my problem. It's your problem. You don't see me freaking out trying to get people banned, do you? Take responsibility for your own behaviour, rather than trying to judge others from a flawed perspective. Instead you think that you are playing table tennis, when we are playing rugby.
  6. I don't concern myself as to whether you care or not. That's your world. I'm just sharing my thoughts on a forum. The girl was on TF, so the pics were real. You can choose to hope or learn to cope. Up to you. Here, we just share thoughts with regard to what we read. Sometimes we will agree, sometimes we will disagree. Some things will disgust, some will offend, some will shock... that's life. The only thing of which you need to learn to control, is yourself. It doesn't matter if his story is real or not. I choose to read and choose to respond. Just like you. What difference does it make, real or not real? To some, he might be a hero. To others, not so much 😊 It comes down to your personal perspective. One man's Troll can be another's hero. Remember that, when you are claiming to be able to see things from different sides and how rare you are.

  8. I read the comments and build up a picture of what is going on. This thread represents human nature, replete with imperfections. It brings a smile to ones face when someone who is so very clearly flawed, attempts to introduce themselves as the adult in the room. Allow me to remind you of the concept of Janteloven.
  9. Did you two book a room when you threadfornicated the Shameless topic?
  10. But you are wrong. It is used here. In the whole pig grills, in the baking vases, in the smoky meat barbecues... I see it all the time. Maybe it's different out in the sticks.
  11. So, let's make it clear... What you wrote was: But what you meant was: even though you didn't mention a ''grilling style" other than it not being "the little ones for meatballs, squid, chicken and such to sell". So from your single initial statement, we should be expected to understand everything that has taken you multiple posts to 'explain', wherein still haven't managed to do so? Why is it important that millions do it back in the USA, if you can do it in Thailand any time you like? I'm missing your point. Can you clarify what it is that you meant, in a single post?
  12. You do waffle... They don't barbecue like they do it the west, is wrong. They do. They might not use the same spices and rubs, but they do. Fractions and percentages are now being used in a further attempt to move the goalposts. BBQ is very popular in Thailand. Full stop....or Period(you may prefer). All of this tawdry arguing and attempts at moving the goalposts to try to save your face is really pathetic. You just cannot stop. It's like a compulsion.
  13. Yes, it was your first line. The one you asked me to review, as it was your original comment. With which I disagreed. Rather than admit that you misspoke, you just moved the goalposts to "There aren't millions of Thais enjoying American style BBQ now." 😂 Who does that, apart from Americans? It's really just nonsense and you know it.
  14. Talking about grown up men acting like teenage boys... You like to think of yourself as the adult in the room. But many here see you quite differently from the way you see yourself.
  15. You are just waffling and trying to get 'personal' because you have lost the debate. Your original statement was quite wrong. That's all. Accept it and move right along.
  16. https://www.facebook.com/groups/497946584033986/posts/1064898777338761/ Please demonstrate where this exact sentence was written originally. It looks like yet another of your attempts to move the goalposts. What you actually wrote was: That's quite different, isn't it? It's also completely erroneous. There are millions of Thais enjoying BBQ every day.
  17. I disagree with you and the OP has disagreed with you. That is two. No one has agreed with you. So that is NONE. I have posted links to back up everything that I have asserted. You have posted nothing, but your erroneous imagination.
  18. You just seem to be totally without a clue. You just make things up as you go along and expect everyone else to go along with it. You just get caught out by people who have more knowledge than you. The picture that you posted is of a device based on the modified oil drums that people would make for themselves. You are going to wriggle and squirm the whole way through this, aren't you? You would rather die than to admit that you got something wrong. Barbecue in modified oil drums in the USA is a staple of, particularly Texan and, Mississippi-style barbecue cultures, born from the post-WWII DIY era, with roots in the 1940s–1960s. These sturdy, accessible 55-gallon, or larger 150-gallon barrels were repurposed by welders and enthusiasts, notably in Los Angeles and Texas. Often mounted on trailers, these pits allowed for mobile cooking.
  19. So why is no one here agreeing with your posts on the matter? Even the OP has disagreed with your description of the modern American grill being traditional. So where is the evidence of anyone here agreeing with you? So now you have comprehensively been proven wrong, you now revert to your old tactics. Pitiful, really. How hard is it to state that you didn't know or that you misspoke? Too much for your ego, huh?
  20. At you request, I went back. So here we are again. They barbecue whole pigs in oil drums. That's not "little ones for meatballs, squid, chicken and such to sell" They barbecue in Mu Khrata. Again, large communal grills. They use different kinds of woods. Some vendors need to create special chimneys for their mobile carts for their very smoky offerings. There is all sorts. Just not in your narrow purview.
  21. I and everyone else reading this dialogue can comprehend what is written. The fact is that you want everyone to go along with your constant moving of the goalposts.
  22. You were already wrong in your first paragraph. I've bolded it for you. They use the TRADITIONAL style of BBQ. Oil drums, which is the precursor to the western style equipment shown. Hence EXACTLY THE SAME. https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-woman-grilled-pig-on-a-market-in-pak-chong-thailand-10507870.html https://www.facebook.com/pigroastserviceinpattaya/ https://www.instagram.com/reel/DT2aNIMkvu7/ Your issue is that you can only see things in one way. Everyone else, but you, can see that you were and are wrong. But you will wriggle and twist in the hope of getting away with it. It doesn't gain you any respect here.
  23. The lengths people go to, rather than to admit they got something wrong...
  24. Please, for your own sake, please stop writing this embarrassing nonsense. So you are saying the Thai people with their modified oil drums and fire pits are cave men? That tradition was created when someone decided to monetise the modified oil drum style? Sorry but what you post doesn't make any sense, at all.
  25. Wrong, wrong and wrong again... As I suggested before, your brain is so focused on a single way of doing things, that you are completely blind to anything else. Few people are going to buy that expensive iteration of BBQ grill. The TRADITIONAL way is to obtain something fit for purpose. Live in a tourist area and almost every day, outside a bar celebrating a birthday or some such, there will be a modified oil drum roasting a whole pig. The TRADITIONAL version of the modern grill that you posted earlier. The fact is that millions of people in Thailand enjoy tradition BBQ every day. But in your mind, BBQ is solely created by the kind of modern device that you pictured.
