There is a great plush ultra soft & very reasonable couche or couch set at big C used to be Carrefour in the indoor room next to the krungsthai bank(may be misspelled.) the Shop has the softest couch I have seen in Pattaya & almost 1/2 the price of Stefen Ocho. we just got ours delivered today 17,000 baht without purchacing al 3 -just the couch 3 seater. you will know the couch it is the one that just about everyone snags after going into the shop. they make them custom order your color & material upcountry. Really nice people & speak English well. Check em out. No one can touch their quality or their prices.
totally agree
i have a wonderful leather sofa set from the lady there
she used to work for stefan ocho and has now set up on her own
same quality but half the price
when i ordered she gave me a delivery date and thats exactly when it was delivered, even arrived on time at 10-30 am
i was very impressed with her and the service
she is highly recommended to all

Villa can be crazy expensive, however whenever i try to shop somewhere else, i always end up going back to villa to pick up something.
I'm the same. I only go there to buy Robinson's juice as I can't find it anywhere else. Still, it costs about £3 a bottle. Crazy.
Probably exaggerated those first prices a little, but trust me, not by much.
Robinson's at friendship 143b, central festival tops 139b, sometimes at tops secoond road 145b even at Na-Na on soi kao noi 150......

thank you very kindly for all your help and advise
i found it very helpful
on the same note can someone help me decipher the meaning of this statement regarding the tax on the asset please?
''If the seller is an individual (not a company) Specific Business Tax does not have to be paid if:
-
The seller has possessed the property more than five years before the transfer (the transferred real property has been used as the principal place of residence, and the seller’s name appeared in the house register for not less than one year from the date of acquiring such property).''
what's the house register? and would my Thai family's name be on this register? and if so where would this register be found?
does it mean that if the family has not used the house as a principal residence then they would become liable for the tax payment upon sale?
also if the house had been rented out for those five years rather than actually living in it themselves would that make them liable for the tax to be paid?
as a side question, if it became known that they had rented it out for the qualifying period then would they become liable for tax on the income received from it?

i have a house on land in the Thai family name
the date on the chanote says 30 November 2050
the house book says 25 January 2051
this year is 2055
in November will i have had it five years
so the question is if i sell am i liable for taxes on the sale
i heard that before 5 years it is 3 + % and after 5 years no taxes are due
is that true ?
i went to the land office today but could not get a definitive answer
any one know?
thank you

sent from my Android phone
i agree, i also found that there's many more Navy Seals and SAS living on the Brightside, than the Darkside not sure why........

Today I had the chicken roganjosh which I enjoyed. I am noticing that the the curries seem to be quite oily. Perhaps that is because I am taking them home and they have time to separate in the container. I end up pouring out the oil off the top.
Do British curries tend to be more oily?
ok i am no jingthing when it comes to reviews (i expect someone will agree with that in response to this post)
however, last night i drove from Mapbrachan lake to koh noi and took away , x2 chicken pakora, x2 onion bahji, x6 popadoms, butter chicken, chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala all with pilau rice
cost was 790 baht
all were very tasty , and no delhi belly this morning
the boss was pleasant, eager to please and in my opinion deserves to succeed
i think its much better than the one on on nung plab wan near the muslim school and the one on siam country club near SP5
it was well worth the drive and i will go again
oh and, thanks to Jayman for high lighting this little gem........

Had the butter chicken for lunch today and really enjoyed it.
Also noticed they have a full menu for English breakfast and a few sandwiches.
i thought i would take the plunge after your reviews and have just ordered that very item .........

i have 7 contracts with true in various forms
i have had many arguments with them over the years
the office in tesco lotus is a joke now and was a joke in its previous location in tesco
nothings changed in 8 years
the only true office i have found that was any good is in the pacific mall in Siracha but thats the head office one, so they ought to know there
i once called customer service in Bangkok from my home , i was left waiting on hold, so i left the house in Mabprachan, drove to the office in Pattaya Thai and gave them the phone when i arrived at the office
i was told them that the number they could hear ringing was their number in BKK and that i had driven into town since calling and that i was still on hold waiting to talk to someone, 1 hour and 20 minutes later !
anyway as a result, i was given another number which is a fast contact number to a real person in BKK
i have also made a solid relationship with a very good member of staff at that office who does actually know what she is doing
so finally after many years, i am sorted out with true but only because of this lady and no, i am not going to share her name here.
PS
if you are a masochist and want real pain , try migrating your number from AIS to TRUE as i did
i started the process on 5th December 2010 , this was opening day of the migration service
i was the fifth person in the country to attempt it
after many trips back and forth to AIS and True in Siracha, i secured the change of service provider around March 2011
in January 2011, True in Tesco did not even know it could be done until i showed them the transfer papers from True Siracha
they just said ''cannot, cannot''...........

Good to see a concise reply based on detailed information that is supported with sound evidence...

actually its the other way around
Richie Rich is known as the American version of Little Lord Fauntleroy
LLF pre-dates RR
Richie Rich made his debut as a backup feature in the first issue of the comic book Little Dot in September 1953.
Little Lord Fauntleroy is the first children's novel written by English playwright and author Frances Hodgson Burnett.
It was originally published as a serial in the St. Nicholas Magazine between November 1885 and October 1886, then as a book by Scribner's in 1886.
so there!
