But most of that is ancient history, these days they're producing munitions, they're creating warfare, they are sponsoring corruption, they're creating oligarchs out of thin air from state enterprises, they have a leader who's one of the richest men in the world from extortion and pure corruption, who also happens to be a serial killer, and they just do not seem to be contributing much in the way of positivity to the planet as a whole. If I'm wrong, if you are aware of some wonderful things that the Russian nation is doing for the planet, please let me know. I would love to hear about that.
There are a multitude of reasons why very few around the world have sympathy for the Russians. Those reasons are not limited to their serial killing, despot, thieving multi billionaire dictator for life. It is more about their nature, their history as ruthless, homicidal Cossack warriors, and their total lack of manners, and class. Not to mention the dignity, class, decency, civility, and social skills decades of Leninism, Stalinism, and now Putinism has stripped them of.
Some observations on why Russians seem to be so grumpy, annoying and unhappy:
In one series of studies with Helena Slobodskaya, a psychologist at Novosibirsk State University Research Institute of Physiology and Basic Medicine, we found that mothers in Russia, compared to American caregivers, reported that their infants and toddlers were more likely to demonstrate negative emotions, such as anger or frustration. The Russian mothers also reported that their young children exhibited lower levels of positive emotional expression, including smiling and laughter.

Thailand has invited them in freely and without limitations, and they are now paying the price for this kind of foolish rush for quantity over quality.
I just spent 3 days in a very nice hotel in Karon, Phuket. Most of the hotels other guests were Russian and what I observed backs up all that you say above!

Well unlike most of the responders on this thread I kind of agree with the OP.
I have a valid work permit to deliver training to the O&G industry but recently have been undercut by another company that flies trainers into Thailand from Malaysia!
These trainers do not have work permits.

the kids today are young and dumb not surprising since they live on their phones. but mommy and daddy are no doubt enroute to LOS with a big bag of money
Kids??? 36 and 38 are hardly kids!
Personally I really hope they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law! If not then every Tom, Dick and Harry will think it is ok to disregard a lawful order by the police!

"the two foreigners were infuriated and allegedly attacked the police while having the incident recorded by the police."
To repeat myself, if the person taking the video was another cop (See above!) why didn't he/she jump in and help? I guess it was to make sure that they had enough incriminating evidence on the pair of Kiwis.
But I also would like to see any video evidence of the original roadstop.
The person taking the video was NOT another cop, it was a local Thai woman who repeatedly asked the Kiwis to stop!!

Are you all done with the Kiwi bashing? Last week it was the Swiss and Americans. We have only seen part of a video, which shows a foreigner restraining a Thai police officer with a headlock. We also see his friend dropping the magazine from the gun and clearing it. The question remains did the police office have the weapon drawn at the time, or was it removed from his holster?
Nobody in their right mind attacks a police officer for no reason!! On top of the severe loss of face for the copper, he needs to be drug tested.
These two Kiwis are not what they seem and it's obvious to most with some intelligence that they are attached to law inforcement or the military.
Either way in Thailand the Police are god, and which ever way this turns out, there is going to be severe consequences.

Had this happened in the US Trump would demand the death penalty in order to secure three more votes in the next presidential election.
Brilliant observation JackGats! Unbelievable the lengths people suffering TDS will go to!

It seems the video is from a camera which is installed in the car.
What does it show before the motorcycle rider gets upset?
Probably there is a reason why she didn't publish that part of the video.
She could only start using her phone after the accident had occurred!

I was in a bar on Soi 4 opposite Hooters to meet a lady friend and was sitting at a table facing the street, at the table next to me was a farang gentleman with several girls around him (up to five girls at times including the cleaner), he was obviously a regular and I found out later that he had just returned to Thailand after visiting his home country.
He left the bar with company (1 lady) after I had been there 2 hours.
I asked my lady friend what his bar bill was and was shocked to hear it was over 30k THB!!
Lady drinks at this bar are 190 THB and I was sitting with 3 ladies, my bar bill after 3 hours was 2,600.
Point being, lady drinks can add up quickly if you are entertaining multiple ladies!

Has he committed any crime in Thailand?
He may been convicted in Australia? He may be on the wanted list but has he been convicted?
Perhaps we have judicial trials for reasons to ascertain guilt, rather just incarcerating others on accusations
Did you miss the part of the story where he entered Thailand on someone else's passport?

Meanwhile, a 68-year-old female who had end-stage renal disease, diabetes and hypertension died of respiratory failure at Chumphon hospital. She had been in close contact with a previous patient and was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on April 14. She died of septicemia, which causes acute myocardial infarction, on May 24.
And another one goes down as a Covid 19 death when clearly she would have died of her comorbidity anyway!

Absolutely ridiculous measure! If alcohol sales are to be banned it should be a country wide ban! People in this province will now travel to nearby provinces to purchase their alcohol thereby increasing the risk of spreading the virus!!

British woman allegedly assaulted by Bangkok condo guard

Your 4th post and already you are trying to run the show!
I thought the story was newsworthy, "entitled British slapper gets her just rewards." The guard let her get away with the first slap but not the second slap!
