Biden vows to stand by Ukraine, despite budget fiasco
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Just imagine the good things the US could have done for it's own citizens with that money. Perhaps they could have helped veterans as well. Instead they are borrowing money to kill people. -
Sweden gangs: PM summons army chief after surge in killings

White collar people own factories where weapons of war are made. Far as I'm concerned they are all criminals, even if what they do is "legal". War is the biggest crime of all, IMO. Millions of poor people never commit crimes that gain a prison sentence. I doubt many alive that never committed some breach of the law. -

States or not, they were in the Soviet sphere of influence, and controlled by Russian aligned governments. Were Churchill and Roosevelt fooled by Stalin, or did they abandon those countries? I'm going for the latter. The Uk has a history of abandoning countries when it suits them, eg Palestine. So perhaps you can inform us as to which western countries not in the Soviet sphere of influence were invaded by Russia post WW2.

From what I have seen, politicians of both sides are reluctant to do anything ( despite what they say ) to restrict the flow of cheap labour into the US. IMO one can't say either side actually oppose illegal immigration. If the Democrats actually wanted to stop the horde entering from Mexico they could have voted for the wall and a strong border force to prevent the horde from climbing over it. They didn't, and Biden cancelled it. So much for opposing illegal immigration.

Rand Paul: Withdraw Ukraine money if you want to avoid shutdown
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Even Rand is a politician when it comes down to it, and I think my views of politicians is well known on here. I just think he's better than the rest, which isn't a very high bar to cross. -
I refer to the people in governments that vote for sending war material to the Ukraine so Ukrainian's can die to enrich the 1% that make the weapons, while remaining safely miles and miles behind the lines. I myself only just missed out on participating in America's war in a far off Asian country, so I am not a stay at home safely person either. It ended for us when I was about to be posted there.

Did you miss where I asked SPECIFICALLY about WESTERN countries? Instead you posted a list that had ZERO to do with my question which you actually posted, but apparently didn't read. As for Korea, as no Russian troops were involved, to my knowledge, they were only doing the same thing as America is doing in Ukraine, and supplying military aid. Is it different when it's not America?

Unfortunately they only stopped money for Ukraine being included in the spending bill in which it had no place. They didn't say that they will stop voting money for Ukraine war in a stand alone bill. After all, the military industrial complex needs all the $ it can get to keep the 1% getting richer. Seems more likely that the cutoff of funds for this war will come from Europe, and once European countries have seen the light it will be hard for the US to carry on alone.

Yes, I remember America's mistake that cost 50,000 + young American men's lives, for nothing. -
Rand Paul: Withdraw Ukraine money if you want to avoid shutdown

It's just a matter of time before they have to negotiate, so sooner would be better than later. All the fatherless children and widows of the future would support an end to it. -
Rand Paul: Withdraw Ukraine money if you want to avoid shutdown
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Sounds reasonable that states should plan for their own disasters. I'm pretty sure that he wasn't the only one that voted like that on the tax thing, so why pick on him specifically. Is he a socialist? If not then so what? Next. -

Is Europe the only place in the world that I should care about? How about Burma, how about Tibet, how about certain areas in China, North Korea etc etc etc. The list of countries in peril is endless, yet I'm supposed to be concerned about European countries further away than Burma? I can't care about every country in strife, so I care about the ones that affect me, and eastern European countries are for those living in that part of the world, not me. Europe has been fighting since humans lived there, so this is just another in an endless battle. What I am concerned about is that NATO pushes too hard and it turns into WW3 which certainly would affect me.
