  1. This kind of thing is sickening to me, lots of students use machetes to fight also. I think the penalty for this should be harsh. Once again, about the victim complaining of smoking, he should've just not complained and kept his head under the radar, pop your head up and bad things can happen. Admittedly he shouldn't have lost an arm over such a small issue but you never know how mental people can be.
  2. Sounds good in theory but we all know brown envelopes beat a points system!
  3. Exactly! Plus, a lot of people tend to forget they're a guest in this country; that's in the back of my mind all the time. I treat people like I want to be treated, works most of the time. As I said in the Swiss guy kicking incident post, better to keep your head under the radar, makes life a lot easier and less problematic.
  4. Don't see the problem; I had a friend that was 65 and had a 22 year old wife. They were married and stayed togther until he died a very happy man at 78. To be fair, she was a mature 22 not like one of those girls that likes stuffed animals, Hello Kitty stuff, and Kpop music.
  5. I'm not a law expert but pretty sure the self defense excuse doesn't come into play if you're dealing with police. They should've just stopped and cooperated, probably would have a different outcome.
  6. That's the golden rule I live by, has worked for numerous years while living here.
  7. Hard to believe there was any speeding involved with so many roads under construction in Pattaya! I can hardly get up to 30 km/h most days around the city! LOL
  8. Exactly! As far as social media being judge and jury, that's an just an unfortunate thing now days! Most people don't want to find the facts for themselves, easier to just go along with whatever social media you follow is saying.
  9. That's good advice! Keep your head on a swivel over here! Things coming at you from all directions and all different speeds!
  10. Noooo, this wouldn't happen in Thailand, no way! (insert sarcasm here), for those that don't get it.
  11. This is a perfect example of why you should "keep your head under the radar" in Thailand; pop your head up and bad things happen! And also, not be so cocky and disrespect/assault the locals, especially when you're in the wrong.
  12. Seen this a lot with Thai familes; they think it's a good idea for family members to live together--family stays close......I don't think so! My extended family only comes to visit every once in a while---like every couple of years, a lot better in my opinion.
  13. Yes, and stupid family also; just so there's no confusion on here, she admits it.
  14. Because it gives you time to pay people off to get the sentence reduced. Fact, had a family member go thru this process, he had 3 opportunities to "make things right" but unfortunately for him, didn't have the cash to make things happen so went to prison for the full term. He didn't serve the full term as he got off for good behavior but could've been a lot less time to start with.
  15. I've always had good luck with these. I get about 10-15 years out of one, and our water is very alkaline so that takes some life out of them. I added a pressure tank on this last one, so the pump starts/stops less but runs longer which should be better for it.
  16. Obviously he didn't spread the brown envelopes around enough......or maybe not at all! Maybe the higher ups were pissed off they didn't get it before he did, that would piss some people off! I've heard of people getting less for murder, rape of children, etc, he just embezzled money........hmmmmm.
  17. The land of endless postponements.........especially if you've got the cash!
  18. They've taken on a tough task, especially on that street! Between the girls being Buddhist and the farangs wanting alcohol and Thai pussy, can't see them making much headway! They really don't have much to offer the people that frequent that soi!
  19. He needed to get back to his house to start stuffing more of those brown envelopes! Probably not that easy to do in the hospital with all the staff around!
  20. When in the last 5-10 years has it been smooth flowing........even on a normal day?! Maybe since I live here and am not a visitor it doesn't flow smoothly for me! LOL
  21. Even though it seems like it was the Thai guy's fault, more than likely there will be people trying to "influence" the Kuwaiti into paying for the hospital and possibly buying the Thai guy a new sidecar. "You have money, you rich, he no have money, he's poor, help him out." I can hear it already.
