  1. I was involved in Muay Thai in Australia and It is funny to see people wai-ing at the shows it looks so out of place, a lot of the guys have lived and trained in Thailand for many years so it is part and parcel of there lifestyle, but many do it to look authentic.

As for when in Thailand do as the Romans do, my Thai is crap but people appreciate the fact you are trying, if you are in an area where no one speaks English what choice do you have.

  2. The cooking part would come in relation to the fact that it could not be melted by a oxy torch like normal gold it would have to be done in a furnace , I think.

Also titanium is a very hard and brittle metal, so I am not sure one would fabricate it, I would think that is only suitable for casting and not for general fabrication, if you tried to roll it or form it, it would crack, thanks for the info above its good to learn something new.

  3. Blue eyes are you sure they alloy gold with titanium, I have never heard of that before and from my expeience as a Jeweller of 15 years I did not think that the two metals would melt together, so much so that we actually use Titanium as a soilder probe because the gold does'nt melt with the titanium unlike steel. Not saying that what you have said is not correct but it does'nt make sense to me.

  4. Thanks for the Info belfastMike, I think you offer a some very sensible advice, which I have taken on board, still in the early stages of this relationship so I will play it by ear. But I am definatly looking forward to going up country. Cheers

  5. Just wondering how they can sell the gold at below the world rate, at 13,100 bht per baht that was actually below the rate last week, on most days that figure translates to $30.11 aussie per gram and most days last week the gold was up around $34/gram. These are just quick sums. To the OP what ever happened to the concept of its the thought that counts, I am a very generous person by nature but if someone disrespected me in relation to a gift I gave it would be the last they received. Just my two cents.

  6. Standard tip is 200bht even the Thais I have played with have tipped that, I tip 200-500 depending on caddie I have had some girls that have worked on the courses for 15 years, so for some on here to say that they are not skilled is a load of horse do do. After 2 holes these caddies know how long I hit a ball are are picking out the correct iron for me and there reads on putts can be amazing. The Thais in my opinion tip what they can afford they are buddhist afterall and there beliefs I think play a large role in the way they tip, kindness breeds kindness.

  7. Firstly i would like to say i am new here and what a great site you guys have, I need a little advice....I meet a girl in Bangkok a couple of months ago I am a foreign guy and meet this girl in a hotel i stayed at in Klongsan in bangkok, not a tourist area or hotel, so i feel pretty safe in the fact she is Ok, anyways ask her out to dinner and ended up spending a fair bit of time with her in the last few days before i left Bangkok, I am going back in the next couple of months and i suggested going up country to her home in Rattanaburi, I want to get out and see the real Thailand. So i have a few questions, I ask her if it is ok for us to stay at guest house etc, just because my Thai is not that great and it would make it a lot easier if I am not around her family the whole time, is this a rude question to ask? or should i stay with the family, are there actually any guest houses in rattanaburi and do you guys have any pointers on the do's and don'ts in relation to good manners around the family any help would be much appreciated. cheers Rick
