There are 4G "MiFi" boxes and 4G routers that use standard SIM cards and share internet by Wifi to several devices around them. You can then either top up as you need or get one of these 10 mbps 1 year prepaid cards that have unlimited internet on them but speed capped. As long as you have good signal you should be no worse off than condo Wifi.

  2. I want to stay two months in another province and when the condo have WIFI its very unstable and its as usual unsecured. Do anyone know if its any way to get WIFI on my computer. I'm not a smartphone user so that's not interesting and I like to have a keyboard and sizeable screen in front of me when online and most important secure connection. If anyone know a way I'm grateful for information.

    Thanks

Has anyone entered Phuket by land on motorbike/car in the last "couple" of days since new announcements....!?

How about going the other way to Phang Nga...!? ( I want to go to Krabi and back 2 days later on bike).

What if you have no app and not registered , can you just write name and details there and then...! ?

Also in the latest announcement Phang Nga is now an Orange Zone, not yellow and requires 14 days self-monitoring...., what is that...! In this day and age shouldn't everyone do that all the time...!? ????

I came in yesterday. Had registered on gophuget.com and when I don't have a phone with any possibility for downloading any app my better half had the app installed and in addition it was the temperature check on Tha Chat chai. But what made me a bit bewildered and sceptic about the seriousness of this app thing was when wifey show me the reply after scanning the Mor chana that we was very healthy and of very low risk for covid-19 infection due to a body temperature of 36.3 and 36.5, respectively???? I mean its done in seconds and not exactly a health check up????

  4. Its something missed here. Its more or less only focus on men........my wife once said to me when I still was relatively young and still travelled quit a bit in South East Asia included Thailand due to some organization I was involved with. Once this question come up and I ask here, don't you trust me...no its not you its my "sisters" here, was the answer. ????

  5. It was actually a program report about the checking practice at Tha Chat Chai on NBT TV today and as far as I understand and as said by another poster you need to register online on go.phuget.com. and/or eventually provide documentation showing necessity of your travel to Phuket, then you should be good to go!

  6. Overall  Phuket win hands down. Exception is the traffic situation which they could fix if there not was so many hands actually making money on status quo. I have lately seen some complain and worries about a few days with some extra air pollution but of experience its nothing compare to most other provinces in the Central, South east and Northern provinces where its constant air pollution 300-365 days a year.

I think the strict requirements for air travel are based on BKK being a covid "red zone", Phuket and Phang Nga are yellow and green respectively. So i would expect no problems coming back to Phuket once you go over the bridge. It would be more logical to set requirements the other way around (as Phang-Nga is safer than Phuket), but as far as I know nothing is being done at the check point.

What if coming from Prachuab Khirikhan which I belive is a "soft red Zone" is it then swab test and  quarantine?

Try inserting the number of your passport or the number of your document, not the number given by them

As I understand it, with the ThaiChana APP you scan the Barcodes when you go into a Shop and scan it again when you leave. (I was using the Line App to do that, but will start using the ThaiChana App)

The MorChana app is that you need to have Bluetooth and GPS on all the time (together with internet) so when you go into a Shop your phone makes contact with other Phones that have the MorChana app installed.

When later they find out that someone is infected with Covid-19 the App knows and will notify all persons that were in the proximity of that person. (hence the reason for having Bluetooth and GPS on all the time)

This thread is not about how long a tourist spends in Phuket, it is about entering Phuket and the need to quarantine should a returnee/visitor come from a covid red zone.

So back on topic. My question was, how easy would it be to lie about where you have come from ? Would they ask for proof if you were entering Phuket in a car with Bangkok number plates, but you have stated you have come from Samui ?

After all the hype about the Moore Chaina app which now can be replaced by giving truthful info by notify the authorities with documentation/writing down your whereabouts before entering Phuket and also most likely asked to stay in home quarantine for a couple of weeks. That's what my landlord say who are in regularly meetings held by the authorities to keep businesses and service providers on the Island informed. Also heard there coming a separate quarantine location for domestic travelers/tourist  in near future!

Of course they will ask where you have traveled from, but how would they know you have come from Bkk if you tell them you have come from Samui ? OK your ID card night say Bangkok but that person may have spent the last 3 months in Samui.

No I do not think anyone from Bkk will want to visit for 4 days, but there are many people in Bkk who are considering a month or more to get away from the lock down. I know this as I own property in Phuket and I have had inquires from people in Bangkok, all were for minimum one month.

Be careful with the words..... if not they start up again with this TM thing again only for stopover night when out travelling???? Btw, for us foreigners its easy for them to check because we are supposed to have a notification of address slip in passport.

  13. If I understand now after some amendments it accepted to use documentation. However and my query is was this app really meant for the entire population and if it wasn't what use could it then have? I mean they could trace a person from Samut Sakhon with morechina but what about the asymptotic young man he talked with at the car dealer without mask a few days before he tested positive and this young man had no Morechina neither had his mother in Chiang Sean visited a few days later and I nearly forgot his wife working for a International company and recently had visit from one of their customers in Singapore but they are unable to reach the customer by either e-mail or phone????
