  1. A close friend's mom passed away right after she got off a plan from the US. The people at the airport handled everything. Body to hospital, all the necessary paperwork, transfer the body to Chiang Mai. My wife and I found a temple for them and everything was accomplished for right around 65000 baht. There are companies that will handle all for you. The comment about not staying at the Wat overnight is a good one. Also, if you don't have a lot of friends coming don't get a waiting room. Just go from transport van to the crematorium.
  2. If someone vanishes and the only evidence is that person's motorcycle left near a pond.... do you really need a spirit to tell you to look in the pond??
  3. UPDATE: Apparently the overheat gauge was not working. I don't know how long the car was running hot. 4 days ago the car ran hot bursting a hose and requiring a new heat sensor and radiator. Drove it home today and no vibration coming from the car even with aircon running on full.
  4. Pardon; to be ignorant of some custom or law means to have no knowledge of said custom or law.
  5. Appreciate the help but I'm way up in Chiang Mai. Thanks
  6. You are right! It has performed very well. Which is one reason I don't plan on getting rid of it. It was the first car I could afford to buy when I arrived here many years ago. It also has sentimental value to me and my wife. We took it to Kalasin years ago which was a memorable adventure for us. Besides, as I mentioned, it looks good. I keep it up as best I can. Always clean and ready to go. However, It's not our only vehicle so I'm not desperate. I just like my things kept up well.
  7. Thanks. I thought I put this in the Chiang Mai Forum. If I messed up appoliges.
  8. I may have to do this. I had the oil changed about 2 months ago so will hold off a while on this one.
  9. The battery wasn't holding a charge 2 months ago. So before replacing the battery I wanted to check the alternator. I did as you suggested. Started the car, removed the terminals and the car kept running. However, I did not know about the lights brightening up when the engine revs. Will check this today. Thanks
  10. AC works well. Had it gassed up when the compressor was changed about 18 months ago. The car has 215000 miles or 346000 kilometers.
  11. Thanks for this. First thought was that the engine was idling too low as you suggested. However, this has been looked at by every mechanic I've been to. Adjusted and readjusted. The last time the car seemed to be running smoothly. Then a few days later the same thing all over again. Correct "idle motor" means Idle air control motor (I.A.C.) From what I was told they aren't made anymore for this model. When asked if it could be rebuilt "no parts available."
