Fair comment, but i think that all types of media should be used, (A bit like Taksin did) in that way I'm sure that some information would filter through be it in print/radio/TV.

IMHO I think the timing is right for Abhisit to go on TV and make a clear statement regarding this governments aims regarding the poor, health plans, welfare programme's etc etc, the timing is right to completely nip this in the bud!

Of course this is again a very sloppy translation of what he really said. We all know however that abhisit is not at all in charge. He is just the concierge or the bellboy. The real man in charge is Suthep. Given the fact that Suthep,the yellow shirts and their leaders have compared Thaksin numerous times with Hitler and how Hitler came to power there should be a little bit more evenhanded comments.

At least Thaksin came to power legitimate, the abhisit government came to power because of the army and people close to the highest circles.

Suthep orates about how he will easily win the elections but he does not take action, knowing that he is in power and taking lots of commissions without the support of at least 60% of the Thai population. Thaksin at least dared to call for new elections during the height of the yellow shirt demonstrations.

The reason Suthep did not take part was because he knew just like now that he would lose again. Suthep is a dictator, Thaksin is not.

The homosexual comment is taken fully out of context. But who cares? Someone writes something down in a forum and everybody takes it for the truth.

It is simply a matter of legally acknowledging their relationship as a legal entity. These people are, as far as i am aware not trying to interfere with any "Normal" relationship, just be allowed to live their lives in a legally recognized way that affords them some fiscal and legitimate recognition!

You do however have to be emotionally involved with your chosen partner to want to have either!

I think same sex unions are a right and proper expression of their feelings toward each other.

Whilst under current Thai law, they are un-able to "Marry" what is wrong with "Civil Union" as is allowed in many countries between consenting adults who wish to proclaim their true feelings for each other?

I would not go somewhere just for a discount, I would rather go somewhere because I like the food etc, one place i use regularly sometimes does not charge me for a few beers, that kind of makes it personal. and a nice surprise gesture!
