70-80 KPH, but the article doesn't say what the speed limit is at that location. To continue on to the airport and to brush it off as "I'll pay the family compensation is pretty cold ... I know he wasn't personally driving (as indicated in the article) but where is the compassion or the level of responsibility.
And before I get jumped on, I'm not suggesting that this is a Thai problem, I would ask the same questions if it had happened here in Australia.- 37

People are going to use it, drink it or do it anyway. Creating laws that make it illegal will not help the situation at all.

Among the young there is a strong desire to stand by Ukrainians, while older conservatives describe Russia as a longstanding friend
Even long standing friends can make bad choices and do bad things.

it may be the cause of the accident (like brake failure or wet roads) but it's not an excuse ... these people who cause accidents through bad driving or negligence should be prosecuted and do some jail time.

I'm not surprised by this. Thailand has a history of picking the wrong side in a fight ... they were after all, part of the Axis Alliance during WWII.

Absolutely need to kill off dual pricing under this campaign ... they are already touting "fairness" as one of their pillars, but it needs to translate into a single price.
If something is worth a dollar, it should cost a dollar, regardless of whose pocket it comes out of.- 74

That would be because they are testing there and not necessarily that they caught it there. I suspect if you did the same level of testing at shopping centres the numbers would be just as high.
I think if Thailands testing strategy was more robust, the actual number of infected would be far higher.- 30

Well ... they did decide that the patent held on a drug by Japan wasn't valid in Thailand and so they promptly started making it without any royalties ... Thailand has to lay in the bed it made.

You know, if organisations stop using pirated copies of Windows 95 and Windows XP, they would be much harder to hack, You shouldn't blame the buffalo for coming in if you left the gate open.

So ... what actually happened to all the Astra Zeneca millions of doses they were supposed to be producing in Thailand each month? I don't understand how they ended up going cap in hand begging for vaccines from other countries (I understand the MRNA vaccines are different and not made in Thailand).

Given how much the Thai talking heads love a photo opportunity, I have noticed how very few happy snaps of holidaying tourists have actually surfaced from this "successful" model.

Doesn't always help - watch out for the button on the indicator column or the "Speedy Meter". I had one like that from Swampy once, pointed it out to him and he said "how much do you usually pay" ... and that's what I did pay.
Got to watch all the time, but new tourists often don't know how much a destination usually costs.

If I remember correctly it was supposed to 6 million of AZ alone, not a combination with others.
But it also seems that (at the very least) the Philippines and Malaysia both seem to have some commercial contractual claim to the Thai manufactured AZ doses ... I wonder if they are paying the "Thai Price"
