I am a Canadian who also lived and worked in the USA for 11 years before coming to work in Thailand. Arrived out of Detroit, Michigan on January 3, 2000. It was -10 C and snow when I left. Arrived late evening into the old BKK airport and stepped outside to a wave of hot air and humidity, wondering what I got myself into. After waking up at 2:00am with jetlag at the Pattaya Dusit, sitting on the balcony watching the sun come up, I knew I could survive here on my 1-year job assignment. After going down to Walking Street that evening, I knew I could survive. Still here and loving it.

Started the new millennium off right. New job, new wife and new family. Top checkmarks on a Stress Test, but in Thailand it was a joy.

Love Thailand and the people. Here people are genuine and happy wherever they are in their life journey. It is not the dog-eat-dog mentality of the Western world.

Now that I am retired, I look forward to interacting with this community and where I can help out.
