Personally, I would have skipped the RAM in order to afford the better SSD....if money were an issue. The difference that more RAM makes is negligible, once you have fitted the SSD.

Clean install better than cloning old rubbish over to a new SSD.

How will replacing the HDD with an SSD help with providing more power for the ManyCam software program?

Regarding the ram, if I could type Chinese I would probably get a reply from the vendor.

    Erm...no.

That is PC RAM, not laptop RAM. Plus it is for AMD, not Intel.

You need SODIMM, not DIMM. Also low voltage RAM; 8gb DDR3L PC3L-12800

    Example: https://www.advice.co.th/product/ram-for-notebook/notebook-ddr3l-1600-/ram-ddr3l-1600-nb-8gb-hynix-16-chip

    https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c04353989

A lot to spend on an 11.6" low resolution screen laptop.

Also, if you are going to use a program wherein there will be continuous writing to the drive, such as from multiple webcams, don't go cheap on the SSD.

    Okay, thanks.

At this time I'll only be using a single webcam.

Though, ManyCam is known for its resource hogging.

Can you confirm that the attached pic is the correct ram?

You haven't told what you are upgrading. Have I missed something?

None of those components would be my choice and cloning the drive is not a necessary step.

Will the above components fit into this? Is the ram the correct one?

Sorry for the text but there's no option to delete a wrong quote.

You don't have to clean install, you can just clone. but you aren't going to get more processing power.

That thing just won't cut it.

Better to pick up a cheap second hand tower unit with an i3/15 CPU for perhaps 3k and start afresh.

    Example; https://www.thailandallit.com/product/8/dell-optiplex-7010-รุ่น-top-pc-dell-มือสอง-pc-dell-ราคาถูก at a minimum.

    Another example;

    7.png.d970172a6a362107fd54757105c3d763.png

So that is the kind of processing power you need to get the best from the software.

    More examples: https://www.thailandallit.com/category/9/computer-brandname/

I've decided to upgrade the ram and the drive.

I'll DIY and clone the drive.

Before I purchase these 3 items I'd like your input on their suitability.

You'll possibly be using a TV as a monitor.

A nice find. Won't break the budget either and plenty of power for green screening. However, no SSD.

  6. Thanks for the detailed reply. The bootup time video you shared is impressive.

Perhaps initially I should have explained that I'm going to be using a program called ManyCam on the notebook, which requires plenty of power to reach its full potential.

For me a clean install is such a great deal of work, reinstalling software, changing settings, finding usernames/passwords and so forth.

I just don't buy laptops for myself that often. I've had an unused laptop in it's original box for the past ten years, as I'm still using another similarly old laptop.

Upgraded them both with more RAM and SSD, then put the unused one straight back into it's box.

Have only purchased one laptop new, ever. Twelve years ago in Thailand, for a girlfriend.

That one is still in use too. Upgraded it with a dual core processor, 4GB of RAM and an SSD, at the tremendous cost of 1500 baht inclusive of labour(at current exchange rates).

Leave that one in Thailand, so I don't need to take a laptop with me when I visit.

Hey JJ while you're on the topic of upgrading, I'd like to know if I could get more power under the hood, that is RAM and CPU, on this notebook: https://notebookspec.com/notebook/5911-HP-PAVILION-11-N026TU-X360.html .

Netflix, Kodi all is working well after i changed a router. Their free router is very poor.

You changed "a" router. How man routers are there?

Please explain why True's router is poor and what makes it poor. Also, how would a router affect the way an app operates if it's supplying more than adequate speed for the app to properly work?

Download the 'my AiS' app, log in and you will get your package info and also what others are available if you want to change.

Thats where the details I attached came from, the AIS app. It only gives the slow speed. I want to know how fast 4G max is supposed to be.

Well, I was actually responding to a query by @SteveK regarding his Wave. But as you ask ????

The tyre itself, being tubeless does not have a valve. It is fitted to the rim. But when you get the tyre fitted to your M/C make sure that they fit a new valve. A competent tyre fitter should do this for you without being prompted.

    Good luck and safe riding.

    Thanks for the advice.

Does the new tyre come with a valve or without a valve?

*Okay, I reread what you wrote.

It's relatively easy to check where the air is escaping by putting the wheel under water. Then just plug the hole. If it's the valve the replace that. Worst case as mentioned just get a new tire, they are not so super expensive for an MSX. And as also mentioned that chain really needs some care, do you ever clean and lube it?

I would have to take the wheel  off of the bike first, right?

Try replacing the Schrader valve (if you can get one). That might fix your problem. But bear in mind that tubed tyres here are very porous. I have to top mine up every week.

I plan to purchase this rear tyre: 130/70-12. Shall I assume it comes complete with  a Schrader valve?

From the look of the cracks along the grooves in the tyre, it due for replacement. My Tyres last between 18-24 months before cracking and lifting.

I see that now. I'l purchase a rear tyre off of Shopee and get a repair shop to install it on the bike for me.

    Thanks.

  14. Hi

I've a Honda MSX with tubeless tyres.

The rear tyre, over the period of around a week, will lose around 20psi.

I'd like to get the tyre repaired at an MC repair shop. Is this possible or will they try to sell me a new tyre?

BTW, I'm in Bkk out near the old airport.
