  1. The whole idea behind safety in the sandbox was that more then 70% of the residents on the island should be vaccinated. Excluding the non resident workers defeats the whole idea. These workers needs to be closer monitored and tested weekly until they are vaccinated and the borders have to be much tighter with PCR-testing Before the Sandbox started the governor said that if new casas hits 100 a week they will have to reconsider. Now we are at 200 a day!! So the governors promises is lame to say the least. Stopping the Sandbox now would mean a huge loss of face for the Phuket governor and the country so obviously they will let covid spread without closing down.
  2. Well if they give just 20% to each patient it last 5 times longer. But does it do the job or is it just for show ???
  3. No surprise there - corruption seems to be well protected by officials in spite of big words.
  4. Good idea - relax the rules and within a week u will be back on 20.000 ++ new infections. Now is the time too play it cool and keep up the restrictions for another few weeks - just to be safe. Whenever they relax the rules there will be a kick back - is it so hard to look at Europe and learn.
  5. How many days until he gets looked up for criticising the government ?? Lex Majestic !!
  6. Hmmm. Phangan 123% and Koh Tao 128% residence vaccinated !! Well without knowing how many of the total numbers of people living - both residents and temporally workers - those figurs mean nothing. We all know that most of the Thai people working in the tourist industry comes from other parts of the country. When Samui a few years ago applied for being a city they needed 40.000 registered / living on the island to considered a city. At that time there was another 250.000 workers on the island still registered in there home community. It's ridicules talking about 100%++++ without the proper total numbers.
  7. Most of the spread is among locals - not tourists. Foreign tourists have to download and always keep tracing apps up to date. How come this does not apply to Thai locals on Phuket and Samui ?
  8. Why are all tourist required to install the tracing apps but not for locals ?? Especially as it's among the locals the new infections are spreading !!
  9. Most likely the first step will be mandatory AQ (ALQ) hotel for the first week - same as Samui. Those hotels are few and 3 - 4 times the prices at SHA+ hotels. That will effetely put an end to tourists coming under the Sandbox routine.
