My WP is valid until March, and my B Visa is valid until May, its been like this for the best part of 10 years, never had any issues, just renew your WP as normal, then do your visa extension before exp.

Two years ago I renewed my visa extension in September and I was given until March as my passport would expire. I went to the labour office to do my work permit and even though I showed them my contract which was valid until September they only gave me a work permit until March. I was told that the work permit follows the visa.

Just spoke to my friend in the UK who is a jewellery and gemstone dealer.
He said that sales are virtually 0 at the moment. Good luck with that fair.

The Chinese can't own land, right? In fact, wasn't that why the ban on owning land was introduced in the first place, with us Farangs being collateral damage, so to speak.
They have ways around that. Many luxury houses near us have been bought up by a Chinese gang,. They came around here the other day taking photos of all the houses and asked us if our house was for sale. They have Thais to manage the houses which are then rented out to Chinese people.
Yes, the company buys the properties. The website of the company mentions that they have a private jet, private helicopters and yachts and luxury cars (Rolls Royce, Porche etc.). Yes, it's all true. I happen to know someone who works for them and that person posts photos of the private jet and other houses on Facebook.
When they start to buy the hotels we will see an invasion of Chinese tourists

They will be taking a risk , they could end up with a hotel that doesnt make a profit for years , if ever .
They are taking the risk and they may profit or lose
If the Chinese buy them , then it is almost certainly money laundering. They will just fiddle the books.

Just for info. Yesterday I went to CWN to do my 1 year extension. I arrived at 0815 and was shocked to see 1000,s of people queuing outside. No problem, it is being used as a jab center, just go to the front of the queue and enter as normal. I was given queue number 90 at 0825 and it looked like I was the last person to arrive. 0830 the door opened and I received N38 queue number. There were approx. 4 people at L section 40 people at N section and 70 people at M. I was seen at 0900 and was finished at 0920. When I left there was no one at L or N and around 10 people at M.
I tried to make a booking last week but was told no need. I was told that I must have a TM30 for Bangkok or they would not accept the paperwork.
When you say TM 30, do you mean the original from the landlord?
Last year I showed them my receipt on the app and that wasn't enough. Luckily I had the original application form from the landlord

The appointment system has been down since June. You can just go to do your extension.
haha that doesn't surprise me one bit

So does that mean we cannot just turn up to do our extension?
If we have to book a time, how do we do that?

What is Medpark? I registered along with 40,000 other non-Thais 10 days ago and was told to wait for an e-mail appointment! So far nothing! I live in Khon Kaen and am 70+ with 3 of the 7 underling medical conditions. Why are Medpark issuing Pfizer to those under 60 when there are those over 60 with medical conditions yet to be vaccinated?
Medpark is a new private hospital in Bangkok. I think they are trying to build a database with names of foreigners living in Thailand.
If you notice, they are not issuing Pfizer to under 60 without underlying conditions. I believe that at first they said anyone could get Pfizer, but I am not sure. I am also in the 60+ with underlying conditions. I have already had an AstraZeneca and go for my 2 shot next week.
I cannot remember how many different places I registered with, only to get contradicting emails.

did they not allocate 600,000 something doses of the donated 1.5million from the USA, to front line medical staff, if the man is a front line nurse then he received one of the 600,000.
Medpark is using some of the 150,000 doses allocated to non Thais.
Medpark has sent out new information regarding Pfizer.
So far only 60+ w/without underlying disease - pfizer
18-59 with underlying disease - pfizer
18+ over 12 weeks pregnant - pfizer
Proof in form of medical certificate required.
18 - 59 WAIT for further announcement.

People simply do not care.
I am in Bangkok and last night a house near us had a big party. At least 10 luxury cars and 4 taxis brought people along. All just before the 9 pm curfew.
I can imagine it is worse in places like Prachuap. I know that some people have travelled there from Bangkok to escape the lockdown in Bangkok.

Reports in the press mention that she may have been dead ~ three days when found.
Didn't immigration ask all tourists to install a tracking app. "for their own safety"?
Maybe I am wrong, but I am sure I read that somewhere.

Do they now test traffic offenders for Covid or is it just because he is going to the police station and they don't want the virus there? If that is the case, then many other places should be testing. I have a dentist appointment next week. Will everyone be tested before entering?

What do you think?
I think it is very wrong. They are actually hiso people, not that that should make any difference. I have no idea if they just sleep or what?
In our case my children never slept in our bed, but they would sometimes jump in our bed in the mornings when they woke up. They stopped at about 5 or 6 years.

wait, they suppose to sign it the last Monday.
Gen Prayuth has spoken to them personally, at face to face meeting and shaking hands photo opportunity, on 19th April, just after coming back from his extended songran hooliday and did promise an immediate action, ie order.
That was over 3 months ago.
If signed and ordered on that day, this vax had a chance to be already in Thailand, even in initial, small quantities, just for medics
I agree with you entirely.
I get quite confused with all the head lines:
Thailand agrees to buy 5 m
Contract for 5M doses ready
5 M doses to be delivered
and then 3 months later:
"Thailand signs deal to buy..."

I guess they would have been OK if they just were having sex and not drinking alcohol. To the best of my knowledge having sex was not banned. But perhaps you can't do it at restaurants or during curfew hours.
Maybe the problem was that they were 6 people. The new regulations state that gatherings must be max 5 people.

The owners were greedy and built shopping malls on any bit of vacant space ( and are still doing so) thus driving all small family owned shops out of business.
Did anyone cry for help then?
Having said that, I do feel sorry for the small shop owners in these malls. They probably pay sky high rents and struggle to make a decent profit.
The owners are so rich that they could give discounts in the rental fees for a month or two and not really feel the pinch.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster, I suppose you could always speak through a translator.
If you do that, you must make sure that the translator speaks and understands perfect English.
I know a Thai judge and I was told that if a translator makes a mistake and even though the judge understands English and knows about that mistake, he has to follow the mistaken Thai translation of the translator.

Thanks for your experience. Personally, I know no one who know anyone who has died from this.
Were your friends unhealthy or old?
I have booked a vaccine but am not really scare of getting a sore throat. I am under 60 and healthy but if I were over 80 and/or unhealthy, I would be concerned. Then again, I would have had a vaccine and/or stay at home.
1 was 30 and had no known underlying conditions. She died within a few days of testing positive.
1 was about 70, but had just been through a medical examination where he was declared ok (they think that is where he was infected)
1 was 40 and obese
1 was about 50 and had some lung problems.
Incidentally and slightly off topic. The hospital bill for one of those who died (paid for by the government) was over 6 million.
Apart from these people I know of about 30 others who have been infected, Colleagues at work or their relations.
Only last night I heard of 2 more cases. My friend's friends parents. They couldn't find a hospital room for a couple of days.
Several people from a small community on my soi were also infected.
I guess I live in an epicenter.

Exactly, there's a lot of people worrying about nothing. My mother, who is 80 soon, had it with NO symptoms, as did 4 other relatives over 80.
Who says it's nothing?
I know 10 people who have had it - 4 are dead!!
1 had a sore throat and lost his sense of taste and smell.
Another had sore throat and sniffles.
The others were admitted for over a month each.

What planet is this guy from? The only thing that will stop Thai drivers from mowing down pedestrians crossing the street on zebra crossings is actual barriers, like with railroad crossings. Either that, or put a cop or soldier with an AK-47 at every zebra crossing, with orders to shoot to kill offenders. But even then I can see the majority of Thai drivers take their chances with that.
They try to dodge the barriers on railway crossing now.

MorChana to have face recognition integrated, warn officials of foreigners outside designated Sandbox zones
in Phuket News
Posted
This is already in effect to a certain degree in the UK. I saw a documentary about a trial run where pubs link up to a database of sex offenders. As soon as a sex offender walks into the bar, facial recognition picks him up and a warning is sent to the landlord who then act accordingly.
Yes, it will come here sooner rather than later.
