  1. I know of people that are just ignoring the 2nd PCR requirement based on the assumption that there would be no follow up on it. Not sure myself. Think it's likely the gov aren't organized enough to monitor but I'll probably just do it anyway myself.
  2. Just going to add this here for other people who might come across this thread if they end up in this position. Friend of mine arrived in Bangkok with a positive PCR. He was asked if he had covid recently and then asked to provide the documents to prove it. Then he had the option to take a blood test (for 3000 baht) to see his antibodies and since that came back okay, he was free to leave.
  3. @jojothai These screenshots may help: I don't think the hotels are aware of this rule, that's one of the problems. I think it would be best to try and clear the situation with the hotel in advance of travelling, to maximize your chances of a good outcome.
  4. I'm also thinking in agreement with you, although the wording is vague, it appears as though arriving with the recovery certificate and positive pcr may put you in a different process than someone arriving with a negative pcr and recovery certificate and then testing positive. Edit: will thai airways let us on the flight if the recovery certificate is just 11 days since the positive pcr sample, or does the recovery certificate need to be 14 days from positive?
  5. Is the conclusion that even with the Recovery Certificate, after landing in Thailand a positive PCR is going to mean quarantine 14 days nonetheless? That would be really disappointing, when it's obvious that you can't catch it twice within quick succession.
  6. Thanks a lot for your advice! Do you have a source for the SSO covering hospital/hospitel? I feel it's not been explicitly stated anywhere. I picked up some insurance today but have since realized they probably would invalidate me for having a "pre existing condition".
  7. Those are fair points thanks. I think I'll pick up some insurance if I do manage to pass the pcr this side.
  8. Yeah thats the 'play it safe' option. Would cost me 7 days and about 16,000 thb. I'm just trying to evaluate the potential costs of the higher risk option of taking my scheduled flight. If it was all covered by SSO then I'd go for it.
  9. I'm on holiday in the uk and have got covid. I'm due to fly back to thailand in 10 days. From research I've found it's possible for pcr tests to show positive for weeks after getting it, although its 50-50 for 10 days after infection. So I'm trying to work out the risk of testing pcr negative before my flight then positive when arriving in Thailand (they do love to stick the swab in deep over there!). If it happens, I've got SSO, but does anyone know how much the cost would be for the circus I'd have to do for treatment, hotel for 14 days? Note: haven't got enough days left to get 14 day recovery certificate
