  1. good news if they will make ducati monster 796 here instead of low spec 795

all i know, it has one sided sexy swingarm and better specs.

So, who buys a 795 now?

Not many people were going to buy the 795 anymore, anyhow. They are waiting for the newer models. Therfore Ducati is making this deal to keep the sales going untill the new model is released.

Sexy swing arm + 180 rear tire (not to forget!!!).

  2. Plod is Moron Number one in The DL's Moronocracy. I'm not sure where Yingluck and Chalerm come, they are both vying for the second spot.

This article is just too funny. Did Plod actually blow his whistle back?

Don't know if he blew his whistle this time but I heard that he does like to blow whistles...

  3. Thanks- I'm going to try to get there on Saturday or Sunday- I'm not 100% sure I can get to BKK, but I'd really like to go.wink.png

Any idea guys, if they will allow you to test ride a few models???

    I have never been before.

    Normally not.

  4. I went to Ducati Pattaya on 3rd road this morning.

2 new hypermotard outside the shop and I was told they got them yesterday.

1 new hyperstada outside the shop without the side bags on red plates for test riding.

Both models looks very nice and I had a test sit on both. Despite me being app 186cm and long legs I fell much better on the strada and I like the back support the lowered seat gives too. Better mud guards too.

Both models fells smallish, especially the motard fells like an overgrown moto cross bike, he-he.

I asked for a test ride and was told I can come anytime I want and have a 15min ride but shorts not allowed, lol.

I will most likely go and have a test ride later this week despite my wife don't like that I might start riding big bikes again.

The staff was very polite and helpful and gave us water bottles marked ducati on them.

1000 km service is app 3500 baht and 30.000 km service (change cam belt) 15.000 baht.

I am not sure if I want to spend 550k on a strada, it will only be a toy for me and not many nice bike roads around Pattaya like up in the ChangMai area.

They told us 10 of the 820 are on order and about equal distributed between the 2 models and 1/2 Thai & 1/2 expats.

I forgot to add: The nice sales lady told me it's best to run benzine 95 and only gasohol 95 if the first can't be had, <deleted>?

    Correct. (it's best)

  5. Not going to help the local stock market or the tourism industry or the food industries or the country.

You are right. Look at it this way too. The last 2 years the government was able to run this country without any obstruction and they made a real mess out of it. They have betrayed the public over and over and on top of that have completely mismanagement this country. They are only interested in 2 things: buying votes through over the top populism, enriching their own family and friends. Thais, strangely enough, can accept this IF they ALSO do a good job for the country.

  6. Tarit and the DSI have rules that they need to follow and legal processes and procedures that also need to be adhered to.

If this case is kicked out as it seems engineered to do so, it will be to the detriment of the of the deceased and their families and very clearly the fault of Tarit who should equally have been held accountable

Well the dsi has largely concluded that the guys holding the guns didn't kill anyone, but that through some amazing hypnotic power abhisit and Suthep did.

So laughing at tarits legalese isn't too difficult.

In a murder case, the one that open fire and the guy giving the order share equal responsibility.

Really? Let me give you a difficult question. In your logic, please explain why the military is cleared already.

  7. So, it doesn't require evidence - just clear charges.

The last time the Dems presented evidence, Tarit took it away as homework and hid it under his favourite stone.

I believe evidence on the Rice Scam was produced in the house implicating a red shirt wife.

I'm sure the good people at the ministry of finance (the ones that haven't been moved to jobs where they can't hurt the PTP) could show in jiffy that the scheme is corrupt. The percentage to farmers was very small. Where did the rest go?

The rest of the money is still in the rice stock. One day rice will be scarce and then PT can sell it for 3 times the buying price.

  8. Well the Dems are busy pressuring the court to dissolve PT, so did anyone not expect a response?

In what way? I have not seen any evidence of the Dems camped outside the court or homes of the judges nor have they given out addresses.

They have repeatedly said that they want to give the constitution court the support to make the right decision. The reds have said that they are interested in the courts decision. Both meanings are the same and that is obvious to everyone: we want a decision favouring us and after Wassant's interview both sides know that decisions based on politics, and street demos and not law happen. In fact it is no surprise that both sides take to the streets after what Wassant said.

To understand the subtexts and how these things work PAD Sondhi statements before he was shot in the head are revealing along with lots of wikileaks too). The context is important and does anyone think the players are neutral (check polls on what the Thai people think of some of the courts, or just listen to Wassant on the perception of the court he used to head.

"The reds have said that they are interested in the courts decision."

The Reds have said a lot of things or rather their leaders have. There are many memorable quotes from the Red's leaders and many that are recorded on youtube.

The Reds like this, like that, agree with this don't agree with that..... Their leaders always act as if the Reds are 10 years old. The leaders decide...

  9. They could make their voice heard in the next election too. That's what people do in democraties. Of course, they get free food and entertainment at the rallies... It must be a magnet for some people who have nothing else to do.

Sometimes i wonder if the red shirt supporters can actually hear themselves, with the things they come out with.

The hypocrisy is really quite staggering.

Indeed. I am now witnessing the first democratic rally in Thailand since long. No violence and most people join have day jobs. It's not fair to compare them to the reds. Day time it's fairly quiet, except for noon time, and then the more protestors show up again during the evening.

Some people believe that democracy is only about elections and if you win you can do whatever you want. No checks and balances, no accountability just do as you please. Sad indeed.

  10. Poor children, living in England in the winter- a terrible fate.

Too true, but I guess the alternative was Dubai and the kids are streetwise enough to know that Dubai is no place to be. For many, Dubai is a bit like Xanadu, with the promise of eternal life, but once you got there you could never leave, so what was the point. Dubai is much the same, it seems all glitzy and fun on the outside or to the casual traveler, but once you are embedded there it's a completely different story.

Good luck in London, but the downside.....watch out for the press and the journo's, because they won't hold back like here, and every nightclub will be full of 'friends' with iphones and smartphones!

Too true, but I guess the alternative was Dubai

I have heard that Thaksin was kindly asked to leave Dubai by the end of this year due to his continuous involvement in Thai politics and the threat he had received from Al Qaeda.

  11. The police are in the ptp's pocket, what else can you expect. They let the red shorts run riot last time and here they are coming down on these protesters even when the pm said they werent to do so. It would seem that big brother is paying the right people to do his bidding again, this will just keep happening, its Thailand what can you expect

Some people might not know that but during the Red shirt rallies in 2010 there were parts of Bangkok that were controlled by the reds, not the police.

Yes, that is correct - although are resident apologists (most of whom, were not in Bangkok in 2009 or 2010) will be along shortly to dispute that.

They can dispute whatever they want. I lived in the area and had to pass a few intersections with trucks standing in the middle on which a bunch of wasted red shirts were having a party. Total anarchy at that moment.
