Yeah they were very professional with me on the phone & thru email.Caught MSIG at the end of the day, sent in my info and I will find out tomorrow, but it looks promising. I will keep this updated.
I had bought thru Kawasaki when I bought the bike but wanted my policy after a couple weeks so I called & they
were great. Scanned it & emailed + sent the full policy by mail.
So far so good
Hopefully will never need the policy but they seem competent

Yep that is one thing I really miss about the USA...Prices of accessories
And of course the bikes available & their prices
-
Yes I figured it was license related
But just thought it so odd given the 250/300
Also as KW said...too bad they didn't spice up the Ninja
style instead with USD fork & nice swingarm/frame etc.
-
Odd & may just be Japanese market but still odd

That may be the first time I have heard of being old/married or having to work as some kind of privileged benefitI find it pretty sad that someone who happens to be old or happens to have a wife here or happens to have a business here thinks they have more right to live here and think that anyone else should just get out becuase they don't happen to be eligible for your type of visa.

848 evo - what a timeless classic... wow...
I remember when its predecessor first came out.
Thought that 748 was beautiful !
This 848 Evo does not disappoint either

I have to say I have always loved all Ducati's but lately.....
I have seen more & more up close, heard them, played with them a bit etc.
Where I lived before I rarely saw one in person so it was easy to not get too excited
I am a bit worried as I am starting to feel a bit feverish
It gets you sooner or later! I went in to the new ducati shop in phuket in 2010.. 'just to have a look' before I knew it I was leaving with a receipt for a 50k deposit, i'd never seen the 848 in the flesh, it was like a drug I had to have no matter what, it was a fever!
Funny you should mention that one as it ( evo ) has been my desktop background
for awhile now
Beautiful bike your a lucky guy !
Did you get a Evo or street fighter?

Really sux don't ya think that we buy new bikes & still need new tires.Don't like the Dunlop D210 Sportmax tyres.
A couple of times they have slipped away during cornering.
That's without getting my knee down!!! Yikes!!!
Saving up for the Rosso 2s
I would like dealers to offer a choice especially when a bike is marketed
as a sport anything. at least give us the option of Rosso's or what ever & let us pay a small up-charge
at the time of purchase.
Instead of some crap stock tire that we need to change out right away & try to sell etc.

Kind of did the sameIt's not just about medical coverage- it's also about the replacement of your bike.
But about a year ago bought a new wave elec start 125i 55,900 THB cash
They threw in the govt insurance & I bought 1 year theft for 1200 baht
Luckily none has stolen the wave but I thought for $36 bucks/1200 baht it was a good deal
On my Kawasaki I have full 1st class insurance but it is true when one thinks about it
most times the damages a motorcycle can cause are small. It is really the theft coverage
that interests us riders most.
But then again I guess if involved with a car there is a chance it will be blamed on the foreigner
so there is that
In any case I am paying something like $270 a year full coverage that is reasonable compared to back in the US
But here as I said in another post the theft is quite low compared to actual value.
On the N250 I paid 160k & the replacement/theft insurance pays 130k even from day one
Back home your bike is replaced one way or another after initial co-payment/deductible

Sorry OT but curious what you mean Garry by " Agreed Value"My Ducati is through AA. Been with them for a few years now. Agreed value on the bike.
I did notice even with the N250 that theft compensation is even from day one
a good 20-25% less than what you just paid for the bike
So on expensive bikes like the Ducati I wondered too
Is it closer this agreed value? And how did you folks come up with it?
Thanks

Yeah having watched the replay many time I see Marc was way over his head & had nowhere
to go.
If not for Lorenzo being the berm Marc would not have even made that turn.
At Lorenzo's initial stand up of his bike Marc had his foot down & could not even start to lean the bike in.
So yeah I can say it is racing & things happen but if this is going to be a regular thing
with Marc then someone will get hurt. That is fine too if it is him alone.
But if he takes another rider out of a season or worse that would be terrible.
Hope he wises/grows up

I think you made a good choice Brain
I have been very impressed since I first saw them
a few months back.

Dont know where you live but I went MSIG due to Kawasaki
claiming they were the best for CM
I paid 9776 THB for full coverage 2013 N250
Which for some reason ( probably more N250 claims ) I think
is more than the 650 full insurance runs...may be wrong
-
So what's the verdict?
What did you think of Marc's pass on Lorenzo ?
-
I don't think it is going to happen & if it did I do not think your
family would much enjoy it.
You live on $1800 or 53,469 Baht/month or 1782 Baht/day now
You want to reduce it to $1200 or 35,646 Baht/month or 1188 Baht/day
I mean anything is possible of course but realistically I do not think it is going to
happen with 2 children & you do not own your residence. Sounds easy when folks think of just eating.
But out of that 1188 baht per day you need to divide up your electricity, your rent, food, medical costs,
clothes etc. etc. etc. Thailand is cheaper but it is not that cheap IMHO especially when you have kids.
As others have said use an Excel spread sheet & daily list what you spend.
Make each item in your list have a category number. Food, Utilities,Transportation, medical etc.
At the end of the month sort the data by category & you will see where it goes & where if possible you
can make cuts
Good Luck

No surely you dont but....if you did then you would not later buy the full system header.I know they guy in the picture now too!
Do you need to remove the cat to install it?
I see the guy who make them was nice enough to chime in on this thread but his post got deleted?
Must be a rule about manufacturers being seen as advertising. Which is silly if they are not the ones to start the thread
but are just answering a question.
But in any case, I did see it & he said the header section is not ready yet as it is being dyno tested
He also said the slip on unlike other systems does fit the full header. That those who bought the slip on now will get the header
for a special low price when available.
That all sounded good
I like this system due to the materials used & the price seems more than fair.
Did you notice Akrapovic just came out with a Anniversary Edition Titanium & carbon slip on for the Honda 1000RR?
Looks like this Alias Corse except they want 45,000 baht.... Insane Price!

Was all detailed here awhile back when Brian from Sumet Cycle did his.Okay maybe it isn't that easy, appears there are restrictor plates, different CAMS, etc... I stand corrected.... http://ryokuno.com/SUB_CBR600RR/cbr600rr-sei05_fullpower.html
Personally my saying I preferred the 600 was not because of restrictions or not
Having owned both in the US I just prefer the 600rr
& think for Thailand roads it would great.
-
Marc just had the funniest crash of sorts in FP4
Looked like break dancing
He just kind of came off at full lean but held the bar & the bike spun once
Very weird low side
Looked like No damage to him or the bike
-
+1I'd much rather have an unlimited 600RR than a limited literbike.
-
You are seeing a cbr1000rr for sure the red/white/blue is a 1000rrI am referring to Pattaya Big Wing, I may be wrong but as you walk in look right, still in the crate with the walls removed is either a CBR600RR or CBR1000RR in white with red and blue stickers on it. Most of the rest are 600cc thru 1000cc of various flavor CBR, VFR, NC700, Integra, etc;
The 600rr is not imported to Thailand at least not by Big Wing
Places like Red Baron yes
Would be nice if they did...
When you said you saw several flavors you saw something else...
-
Very surprised if trueCBR600RR, sitting at Honda, several flavors ready to purchase.
