  1. I have a "Revit Tarmac Air". It fits very well and seems to be good quality stuff. Its cool as long as you keep moving and the airt can flow. But at traffic lights or in traffic jams its hot. But thats the compromise for good safety. There are other lighter mesh jackets that are cooler, but i guess "the cooler the less safe". You should accept some sweating in Thailand. Safety is always a compromise here wink.png

    Wantan,

Yes same with the Dainese Air Frame

Super cool when moving & designed to really flow air all around you ....when moving

  2. thx mania - i fancy that revit kit - really look and sounds the part. will be investigating when i get onshore.

    Your Welcome

Good luck & yes that Revit stuff looks good.

Panda Rider was great to work with on my TCX boots

The guy who I think is the owner did all the contact with me

    Mr.Siam Srirongmuang

His email was sales at pandarider dot com

Prompt email replies & speaks perfect English too

Sends purchase immediately with tracking & also said he would exchange if size

    was wrong

Even when I called once & spoke with a lady at the company the service was good.

  3. From the 3m FAQ

So seems like both are possible

1- if left in too long

2- if a high efficiency unit

Do I have to worry about restricted airflow with Filtrete filters?

If you use a Filtrete filter for longer than three months,
it may begin to restrict airflow or cause your heating/cooling system to malfunction.
It also could restrict airflow in some higher-efficiency air conditioning systems.
When in doubt, change the filter more frequently.

  4. anyone can give me info about code 12 and how to fix it

    or

    how to reset the ecu

because my bike was working fine before i attached the api tech, now its on the garage dying

good thing i still have an extra bike for work

    AFAIK or read

Some ECU's are reset by just disconnecting the battery?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery?

  5. And does hunchback is that important?

Many including myself originally thought it was a safety feature to keep your head from snapping backwards in a crash.

Truth is that it is strictly an aerodynamic feature that makes a better airflow

when in a crouched riding position.

There are some that claim it is a safety hindrance especially to an EMT.

In a crash if your laying on your back the hump will hold your shoulders up allowing your head to

go back further. Not a good thing in a crash where you neck may have been injured

Look at page 4 in this pdf

  6. Mate, I only put mine on when touring out of the city (along with the Honda touring screen). The bolts became a bit worn so I just got some bolts from a local DIY store, probably 10b each, I spanner these in, no problem. Just bring them the stock ones to match the size.

If they're moving about, it's the bolts are the issue, not the mirrors. smile.png

I guess it depends what city.

Here in CM the BIB like to see bikes without mirrors as it is more

$$$ in their pockets smile.png When they ticket you for no mirrors

  7. I have been wondering what it is all the Burmese are doing there. Are they looking for their initial immigration papers work permits or just what is it they are looking for. If they are in the country legally possibly a service to handle all the paper work for them would be handy.

I had wondered the same on my trips there.

My wife thought they might be mainly getting work type papers/permits

since they seem mainly to be going to a different building to the left of the entrance.

When not in line at the copy machines. smile.png But I do not know for sure.

  8. I figure that the day after I pay for a year Immigration will close down Assist - like when they stopped 90 day reports by mail- and I will be back to square one, but 1,000 baht poorer.

Some times I think it is the opposite & if I had the

ability I would figure a way to open a visa service.

I have a feeling if things continue to grow here

a visa service could be very profitable.

I do not ever see immigration cutting off yet another source of income

not to mention it must make their job easier.

Things like 90 day mail in created more work due to the constant screw up probably based

mainly in folks mailing in the wrong things etc. Immigration got tired of dealing with it

    or perhaps other reasons.

But nothing they gained from it nor losing it really as "their" work load is probably the same

    either way.

Yet with visa services at least the one I work with I note they are On It

& have everything proper & squared.

Obviously they are trusted as others have noted as I first did

in Immigration. They skirt from desk to desk with a smile & get stamped etc. No fuss or bother

I would guess they have it down & are now not checked much.

I did see the main lady once tell a guy with a stack of Korean passports next time remember this or that.

So personally I see Assist type companies ( Good Ones at least ) probably growing with the expat population

here. Unless of course Chiang Mai gets a nice new improved immigration building with parking & staff to process

the crowds here in an orderly fashion. Till then? I do not see the services diminishing & I only hope the fees

stay as low as they are now.

  9. To give the OP another example as to why not to trust the sound in Youtube videos.

I heard this exhaust in real life today and trust me, the video doesn't do it any justice.

That is a nice looking exhaust. Maybe a Two Brothers knock off?

I see a label reads CNC on the rear tip

Also nice clip-ons & preload adjusters

  10. I like what he's done with it, except for the exhaust. I wonder if he painted it or just ordered new panels? The stickers must have been ordered from abroad as there is no red special edition in Thailand.

Actually I asked him & he gave a very detailed answer

He bought the paint & had the parts sprayed & lacquer clear coated

Prices were not bad at all. Like 500 paint & about the same for labor

The most expensive part was the special edition sticker from Kawasaki at 1200 baht

The black on the side is a sticker/wrap the usual 3m brand stuff folks use for wraps now.

I had looked into doing my side panels in wrap but the color was

only close but not perfect so I passed on it. Also price was kind of

high I thought for two side panels. I have thought about asking Kawasaki here

if I can order the panels in red as they have them for the Indonesia model

  11. Yes I have seen a few at Kawasaki Chiang Mai & also on the road.

    Nice bike in that style

I do not think it would make those who like the Ninja style forget it.

It is just another style...street fighter style & very nice in that

As far as throwing a leg over it.

Should be exactly the same as my 2013 N250 as it is just cosmetic changes

Maybe a hair more upright due to the single handlebar style.

Although the stock bars on the N250 are not true clip-ons & quite high themselves

I plan to change mine to mazriano's soon mainly for easier access to fork tops

  12. Same weather pattern as yesterday

The 8-10 kph West Southwest winds seem to have a

nice result on dropping PM10 to 50 or so same as yesterday

Weather forecasts show the same winds pattern to continue for

    many days. Hopefully it helps.

If nothing else at least we are getting blown to pretty clear levels

    in the afternoons.

  13. I'm still using the garcinia and still achieving AT LEAST 3.5 pounds weight loss every month.

Maybe that doesn't sound spectacularly rapid.

3-4 pounds a month or 1 a week is actually good & realistic.

All these folks who claim to lose 20 in a month etc are either super large

    or losing water not fat.

Most experts agree for lasting changes roughly a pound per week of fat reduction

    is realistic

  14. In my best Janis Joplin voice.....
Oh Lord won't you buy me a Paniiiiiiigale R smile.png

Journalist got a ride around the new COTA
Although this guy is not really thrashing it a good Ducati is still
the one twin I would love to own

  15. Good job

I like the strong color on the frame

but think I would tend to understate it a bit since it is so strong.

I think I would go orange just on the frame.

Meaning exhaust shield, rear hugger, passenger peg brackets, kickstand, etc. in black.

I was curious so did a quick sloppy respray in paintshop to see.

Hope you don't mind as I was just curious

  16. So form TD F 90-22.1 is no longer valid?

What's the replacement form if you don't want to file online?

No this form 8938 is something different & goes to the IRS with your tax returns

(If you qualify as needing to submit one.)

The TD F 90-22.1 aka:FBAR, is still valid & goes to the treasury department

As far as what I read the mail in paper version is still valid but they will switch to online only in the near future

see below which I read here

    http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/Small-Businesses-&-Self-Employed/Report-of-Foreign-Bank-and-Financial-Accounts-%28FBAR%29

Electronic Filing for FBAR Forms – MANDATORY Beginning July 1, 2013

On June 29, 2011, FinCEN announced that all FinCEN forms must be

filed electronically with certain exceptions. The FBAR was granted a

general exemption from mandatory electronic filing through June 30,

2013. E-filing is a quick and secure way for individuals to file FBARs.

Filers will receive an acknowledgement of each submission. For more

information about FBAR e-filing, read the FinCEN news release.

  17. This wouldn't apply unless you got a really BIG amount in foreign financial assets like deposits in a foreign bank...like more than $100K on the last day of 2012 or more than $150K during any time in 2012. I use TaxAct and here is the prompt it gave me on my joint return to say Yes or No to which would determine if I needed to file a Form 8938...I said No because I didn't meet either of the financial assets requirements.

    Thanks again Pib !

Yes I see now after re-reading the government form this...

(higher threshold amounts apply to married individuals filing jointly and individuals living abroad)

So I guess that is why Turbo put it at 400-600K

    Thanks
