  1. For me,the device included in the startkit is good enough. If not, then,by all means, spend some on more sofisticated kit.
  2. Perhaps could try "hashi" or "nasic" ;saline for nasal cleansing.Cheap and easy to find.
  3. Thanks to all who answered my question about bankstatement ! My conclusion of various info on the subject is,that I put in some money every month, resulting in a every month update.BTW,I get interest twice a year. And I will do it in more than one bank...Hopefully it will work better next extension,.Thanks again !
  4. Thanks for your answer ! The only thing that could be the reason,is that I did not have any transactions.I always thought that it was good to not have any:making it easy and clear. But I now understand, that it looks suspicious, and actually makes problem.Guess I have to do some transactions in the future.( on the money that is over the 800.000 )
  5. I have got extensions from different imm offices in my 35 years in thailand. About the 800.ooo in bank, there never were a problem, until latest visit at Chayaphum imm. I got the statement from the bank about being an accountholder and the amount in it.Also the usual copies of every page of the bankbook, stamped by the bank. Can also mention, that I never touch this account;the money just stays there. This time, this was not enough.I was told to get "a one year statement from the bank".So I went to the bank and told them that.Back to Imm. No,not correct.I asked what was wrong,so I could tell the bank, but only get the answer: " Statement!!" Alright,I tried again with the bank, and they detailed every move in the year past on one paper, which was easy, since there weren`t any, exept interest and tax.Somehow, this was not correct either.I tried another bank, where I also have enough funds, and finally imm accepted it.I do not know what the difference was,and I was too tired of it all to think of making a copy.Have anybody else some knowledge on this subject, and can offer some detailed info ?BTW,it is a "retirement visa".
  6. I don`t know what you have been observing the last 30 years, but my observations on this subject is from what I de facto know from the village I live in. I know of MANY women, where sin sot been practised, even after more than one married. Most cases between thai and thai ! My MIL suggested it already after a couple of weeks! And my bride to be,had been married before.Luckely for me,the marrige has been a good one;best woman I ever met!
  7. I am living in Isaan now for 30 more years.I can tell you, that her family, specially her mother,is planning for a wedding.!! Why? Because you are expected to pay a nice sum money for her, plus finance the wedding. For the moment,I know of two families that are eagerly waiting for their daughters to bring home the catch.
  8. I was a gambling addict, many years ago. Of course I wanted to stop, but at the same time,I wanted to go on:had to go on.1989 I moved to Thailand. I had three-four reasons for doing so. One was, that at that time, the were no where I could gamble in Isaan. So that forced me to stop.Otherwise,to be honest,I don´t think I could have done it.Now a days I have no interest of gambling;don´t miss it! My point: It is VERY difficult for an addicted person to end the addiction.I could stop smoking and drinking, but gambling....Up to you,of course,to decide what to do,but my guess is,that she will never stop.
  9. We did have the covid shots ! May be that is the reason why it did not get worse !!
  10. We knew already that she had covid (hometest). The very first test they did,was to check for covid. The reason I brought her there, was in case it would get worse and she might need help with breathing. It never happened, she never needed help from any machine. There were no other signs ,that she was sick in any other way. That is what I meant by saying that there were no reason to start a massiv testing of unrelated sickness. A few days later,me too got the virus. But no way did I want to feed the hospital.I was ok after three days.
  11. Sure they had some reason for the testing,ICU and so on; The reason was to make money !!None of all that testing did show anything wrong,so why did they get the idea to do it. ICU was a short time.No machin, other than for bloodpreassure, was used.My wife asked them repetedly to bring her back to her room,or to tell the doctor to come and see her,but no---I did check the medicines later, and many had the same purpose. They had gloves in a plasticbag, and from the look of them,my wife thought they were all second hand. But we paid for very expensive glovs,of more than one sort.About HIV test;I understand, that if someone is to have a surgery,it could be important to know, for the sake of the personal, wether the patient is HIV positiv. In our case,no surgery was needed. And not a complet health check up.IF it were, they could have informed us before hand, and we could rejekt it.When I complained to a "superviser",she asked for,and got,my E-mail adress. She promised to bring my complaints forward.Of course,I never recived any mail..." Bargain of the century",well, please remember that,if it happens to you !!!
  12. I have told about this before, but I can add some details. My wife went to a wellknown hospital in khon kaen, hon hade insjuknat med COVID.After 3 days, she told me,that she couldn`t stay there any longerI will not go into those details, but I got them to let her out.But first we should wait for the doctor to see her, before we left.As she, up to that moment, still never had met the doctor,we didn`t wanted to see her,and we left. From the start,I had to pay 30ooo B as a garanti. If the bill would be lower,I would of course get the overshooting sum back. The bill came to 66000 B !!!!Now to the question of tests. They charged us for 15 different tests !! Among others HIV...I also have to pay for 20 medicines !!! And a short stunt in IC room, where she did not get any special treatment. The reason given for the need of that room, was that they could connect her to some automatic maschin for taking bloodpreassure, which made the nurses job easier....All in all, the bill,on three A4 papers, has 466 different items !!!!I Guess if I will ever use that hospital again,or recommend it to my friends and family..
  13. Last week,my wife had Covid.I brought her to BKK-KhonKaen hospital.I was told to prepay 30000 Baht.I was also told, that if the bill would be less.I naturally would get som money back. After 3 days she left the hospital, and I was presented with a bill of 66000 Baht, that is,I had to pay 36000 more.At no time did she meet the doctor, never used any machin, except for one, that meassured bloodpreassure automatic. We had to pay for a lot of tests, that I did not see were needed.Antibody test for HiV,for instance (755B).She had to take 16 different medicin, total 130 tablets...Her stomac has not got back to normal yet....All in all, there were 466 different, individual items, to pay for !I will not accuse them of doing anything wrong, but I dare say, that it was an experience....
  14. What about a "holistic" testament ? A handwritten and signed testament by the person, who wants to make a teatament.I am told, that it is valid, but have my doubts, since most people seems to think, that it must be more complicated and done by a lawfirm....In my case,I just wrote, that ALL of my possesions shall go to a certain person.I don´t have a lot of different assets, just my bankaccounts.
  15. You guess correctly.Chayphum is where I go.Nice people working there.Though, they say TWO months after extension and THREE months before next one.Well, not the first time different offices have different rules....
