  1. Well it looks like the only way out of this situation for the immigration officers is to pay off the prosecutors lol
  2. Now I am totally confused. The last press release said the Pattaya police visited all of the hots spots such as Walking Street and confirmed there are no sex workers. So they want to create legislation to protect sex workers who they claim don't exist lol?
  3. Seriously, are these guys blind? Any bar or Gogo that wants to be open is already open. They paid off their local office, got their so called restaurant license and open until midnight. Just walk around Nana Plaza or Walking Street or Tree Town etc. If they are not open it is because of economic reasons (don't have the volume to justify it) not government rules. All they are doing is slowing the tourist volume as they don't know it is already open and just hear the Thai Govt saying all entertainment venues are closed. Crazy.
  4. You just have to follow the money to understand why the rules are in place. The cops make the money by having a 11pm curfew in place as the bar owners have to pay them off to stay open later or fines. The city officials make money by issuing restaurant licenses to bars even though they don't sell any food and operate just like did before (just pay off officials). Same goes for SHA+ licenses. Cops get paid to ignore water fighting in some areas and lock it down in others. These middle guys then pay the big boys their share. They will milk these endless rules as long as possible.
  5. Thanks but this looks like a nightmare to figure out and can't tell what this means in terms of my questions. No wonder the embassy can't even respond. Might try to ask when I arrive.
  6. While visiting Thailand in April I plan to have a short trip to Vietnam and I will have already obtained a Test & Go approval for entering Thailand. If anyone knows the Test & Go implications of this are under the following two options that would be very helpful. The embassy has not been any help. Option 1 - I fly out from BKK airport to Vietnam, return to BKK 3 days later and spend 4 days in Thailand before I depart to the USA again Do I need to apply for Test & Go again for when I come back into Thailand from Vietnam for this short trip? I.e. Once when I first enter Thailand and a second time after a short return trip to Vietnam including another PCR test on arrival and prepaid 1 night SHA Extra+ hotel. Option 2 – I fly from BKK airport to Vietnam and return to BKK 3 days later to connect to another international flight with a different airline and ticket. I.e. I do this at the end of my trip instead of the middle. I have a 5-hour connection between flights that requires me to pass through customs, collect my bags and recheck in with another airline for a flight back to the USA since these are on separate tickets. Do I need to apply for Test & Go again for this connection since I have to pass through customs? Once when I first enter Thailand and a second time for my connection since it will require me to pass through customs, collect my bags and recheck my bags into a different flight through arrivals? If I don’t need to apply for Test and Go again: What documentation do I need to show customs so they don’t ask me for my SHA+ hotel and Test & Go again? Can I still walk around the airport? For example, we are thinking of leaving our luggage in a storage area at the airport before we depart Thailand to Vietnam and collect it when we come back between our connecting flight to the US. Is this even possible? Thanks
  7. I read these are not supervised tests. Yes, we have those proctored tests where they watch you on video but it does not sound like that. Good luck trying to do that with reliable Thai internet! They had this self administered test deal under the early Test & Go program so I think the answer is known by someone.
  8. How will this unsupervised self administered test and reporting work? Heard this used to be in place previously. What is stopping someone from buying the test and if they don't want to report being positive and being locked up after they take it, just have someone else take it and report those results? Seems like more of an honor system. Good luck with that!
  9. Obviously they are paying attention as a ton of countries are making you go through this headache. If people want to argue the merits of the vaccine good and play doctor for the day, good luck to them. Their lives are going to suck with the restrictions that are imposed upon them and I personally don't want to deal with that hassle.
  10. Don't get this 21 day rule (Not sure why greater than other countries with the same rule). Let's say I stay in the U.S. 14 days and then 7 days in Netherlands does this count as >21 days or has to be in a single country on the list? Let's say I stay in Thailand 3 weeks and then travel to Cambodia for 1 week and come back to Thailand. Can I do this? Who can you even ask for these type of questions? Embassy does not respond.
