    What is a diluted person?
transitive verb. If someone or something dilutes a belief, quality, or value, they make it weaker and less effective.

No thanks, Matzzon, I’ll just take more water with it... ???? I note that your generally supercilious attitude to most things has meant the erosion of your sense of humour... what a shame...

Without wishing to start an avalanche of comments about the word "Farang" and it's uses. the answer to your question is NO. "Farang" refers to White European, although nowdays just generally white foreigner.

A small avalanche... as I was led to believe, ‘falang’ actually comes from the history of French Indo China when the French (falang set?) colonised the region of SE Asia?. Since then, all white visitors are so named? Maybe this is too simplistic but it sounds reasonable? Of course, Thailand doesn’t recognise ANY colonisation, for whatever reason (Japanese in WWII?).

Gasohol 91 will be out-phased soon.

I would change to Gasohol 95 and neither try E20 not to speak of E85.

And this is NOT about possible damage but motor control will not handle E85 correct (needs longer injection time?). I have an E20 compatible car and would have to buy some control box to use E85. Fortunately I passed on the idea.

I stumble upon an article saying that cars from 2008 on were fit for E20.

2006 is too early I guess.

    Change to Gasohol 95.

Hi Khun BENQ, sorry to intrude but where can I get information on B10 and B20 and Premium diesel which I was confronted with yesterday? I was allowed out for the first time in a long while and simply went to a PTT to fill up my 2014 Fortuner with 'diesel'. They asked "B10, B20 or Premium?" The price seemed to have a 5 ThB spread per litre. The 'light of my life" phoned the local  Toyota dealer and was told 'premium', the most expensive, but I would like to understand the reasoning. Thanks.

An impressive response from the medical services.

Its good to see this response rather than ‘no insurance no hospital’ type approach...

Even in unfortunate circumstances it’s good to see Thailand in a positive light in the news for a change.

It’s probably because he DID have the necessary insurance cover, Richard...  Hence the specialty evacuation... ????

Thanks but no thanks. Neither Google nor Wikipedia are good sources for BRITISH ENGLISH but I’m grateful for the thought. ????

Which immigration office are you applying at. What is needed can vary for each office.

Did you get a letter similar to this one from the bank showing the monthly transfers. Example-BankLetter-Monthly-Deposits.pdf It is what some offices are wanting.

    Hi Joe,

I recently used this exact same template but when I approached my local Bangkok Bank Office, they denied its existence and said all letters of this nature are to emanate from HQ in Bangkok.

I got them to copy verbatim, the text from a local SCB Bank and Phetchabun Immigration were ‘over the proverbial moon’.

We can’t seem to get over the hurdle of all Immigration offices interpreting Thai Law in their own sweet ways. It’s like trying to herd frogs!

The other problem is that Immigration seem reticent to speak directly with Banks and vice-versa. Communication isn’t King, apparently?

No, you need to read the OP again.  two Thai universities are in that range (601-800).  16 Thai universities in total were in the rankings, which suggests that the other 14 Thai universities were between 801-1400.

You’re right of course, TWO were rated 600-800, Chulalongkorn was rated 800-1000 and the remainder were all lower than 1000. Mind you, those of us interested in such things have known for years that the Thai education system needs a radical overhaul. The only problem is that nothing is ever done and only constant rhetoric persists. ????

  8. I’ve been coming to Pattaya for many years whilst I lived elsewhere around Thailand and this is definitely the quietest I’ve seen it. Thankfully! I’ve been amazed that there are so many bars where the ‘girls’ have been talking among themselves rather than to punters who are scarce or non-existent. Huge parties of Chinese, Korean and Indian visitors who try to negotiate everything at 2 or 3 Baht discount. ???? However, Pattaya is trying hard to clean up its image (not in a sexual context) and the beach and beach front are kept clean and tidy by hordes of women with brooms (no pun intended). To counteract this positive action, Pattaya, in its infinite wisdom have declared Wednesdays as a no deckchair zone which must surely bemuse the holidaymakers? Only in Thailand? Found some great new venues this week such as Pastry Addiction on Beach Road for coffee, cakes and an extensive menu, and Sky Gallery for a great ambience at sundown with superb cocktails and a lot of very attractive, chic young patrons who decorate the place with their inimitable style. I’ll be back... ????????

  9. Tracy, thank you for the detailed and rational thought process of your anticipated journey through TI today. Isn’t it such a shame that we are having to crawl through hoops like this after years of enjoyment in and commitment to the inappropriately-named ‘Land of Smiles’.

With a similar back story, I am going to experience your self-same journey on 2nd September (in another province) and will review your comprehensive list of supporting documentation before doing so. Today, I visit Bangkok Bank for a letter to support FTT deposits of 80,000 ThB per month since February and have already been informed that TI require ‘A YEAR’ of such activity even though the directive has only been in force for EIGHT MONTHS! You can’t beat Thai logic (a true oxymoron).

Thank you so much and good luck.
