Maybe from your area... but from my areas, which are served by their OnNut and Rama IV stores, their "fresh" veggies often tend to be pretty old...  Not to mention that Tesco and Big C didn't fare very well in Thai-PAN's recent survey on pesticide contamination testing for local fruits and veggies.

Won't touch villa. The soi 11 branch use to stink near the meat department and their vegetables were crazy expensive and poor condition

Sure doubt it could hold a candle to the Robinson's in Angeles when it comes to odor/stink

    Now that's a real smell!

I'm very pleased with  our local villas.     I keep meaning to give the delivery service they have a try.

Excuse me but Baguio its a very busy town on a mountain top.

Yes its cool climate barely needs an aircon running.

place is crowded with local tourists from Manila and has several universities.

I agree it has much of the usual congestion found in many PI cities.     I didn't find it appealing in terms of things/activities to do.

I admit my statement was prejudiced in as much as I overall didn't care so much for Baguio.

    To each his own.

My understanding is that alcohol and tobacco require an import licence for quantities over the duty free limits.

Alcohol and tobacco are not prohibited goods but they are restricted goods

There is a potential for paying duty on non-commercial restricted goods less than 200k, but does that include alcohol (as it requires a licence)? Left hand path on the flow-chart.

I know things change but on my first trip to Thailand when I smoked I brought 5 cartons of cigarettes for my 3 week trip ( not enough as it turned out)  and duly reported it to the customs clerk in the items to declare line.

Not surprisingly,  the clerk just smiled and waved me on.

Had it happened today, I may have been asked to fund his retirement.

I have used an agency since retirement arrival in Chiang Mai on an O-A 8 years ago. This year a little rocky as they were not sure what I migration would do as one out of the 12 months required fell below the 65,000 baht. All went through OK for another year’s extension of stay. Just figure the agency deals with immigration every day and thus knows the twists and turns. This year 8000 baht without a re-entry permit (told them I was not going to pay for that should Thailand tell me I am unwanted).

Just remember to get the 1,000 THB stamp if you should decide to leave the country sometime  during the next year.

Also more copies of your passport. Somewhere there is a warehouse with millions of tons of paper.

I've asked on this forum in the past if anyone knows what becomes of the tens of millions of copies immigration and banks have of our personal information.    Nobody knows it seems.

I've also asked through the Mrs of banks and the IOs if they  know and it's the same blank look.

    Where is that warehouse?   555
