  1. I live in the Park Beach Condominium on Soi Naklua 16; right on the beach. Has a lift, swimming pool, a pub, etc. Not on a baht bus route, but directly in front there are always motos and private taxis who will take you up to Pattaya-Naklua Road or where you want to go.

A normal monthly rent for a studio here averages 15K THB per month. No idea what it would be for a one month rental nor if any are available for rent. I can check with the office if you want. One bedroom setups would be more.

Also, across the street is the TW Wong Amat condo complex, and I se banners advertising a furnished studio for 9,990 per month. Again, no idea if that price available for a short term rental. They have a website which may provide the info you seek: http://www.ratanakorn.com/tw_wong-amat/project_site_01.php

PM m if you want more info.

    Hi WWW

This sounds good, but if I can I would prefer being nearer to the road for baht buses. Will have a nosy on the website, though.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi seasia,

The Vela Casa sounds just what we're looking for but unfortunately it's fully booked for December. I'm trying to locate Green Beach Apartments website. Thanks very much for your help.

  3. Hi

If you could possibly give some idea of what facilities you are looking for, e.g. swimming pool, lift/elevator etc and whether important to have a central location within naklua it would be easier to try to help .Approx budget also ?

I live in naklua, no connection with any place but have viewed/stayed at a few.( Mostly budget/mid range )

Other members also may know of places.

    Hi seasia,

Looking for something nice and clean with a swimming pool. Would need a lift as getting on a bit now! Would like a central location within Naklua and thinking of paying around 700/750 baht per day.

    Hope you can help.

    Cheers, RugbyMan.

  4. It comes to us all at some point: we did the village thing a couple of years ago and I'm relaxed about doing the Amphur part, it just seems that we never seem to get around to actually doing it, unsure why that is. Mrs CM gets all my assets when it's my turn to go so she'll be well taken care of, we did get her a UK settlement visa a few years ago but oddly we changed our minds at the last minute and subsequently we let it expire, I don't know, I just couldn't see inflicting the UK on someone as nice as Mrs Cm, she simply doesn't deserve it. smile.png

But we did check out the pension aspect and the UK pension service wrote us a nice letter basically saying that she will get nothing from my state pension entitlement. It wasn't as though we/she will actually need it, it was just that I wanted to know.

She will only get the Bereavement Payment if you legally marry. Same for Bereavement Allowance (depending on her age at the time of your death) and Widowed Parents Allowance (should there be any little Chiang Mais running around).

I might be wrong, but isn't the bereavement payment made only when you are claiming benefits?

  5. Hi all. Can anyone recommend a good cleaning service, need a lady for one day to tidy up a friends house. Couple of years ago I used to use Topcare but I went to where their office used to be off the 3rd road and no sign of them. Any suggestions appreciated, need a one day 9-5 service that's all. Cheers.

  6. Hi all.

Just purchased a nice wood carving but want to put it outside so need to weatherproof it. Bought some varnish/preservative at True Value but it is very glossy and sticky for days. Need something that will let the natural wood come through without making it look tacky - any ideas please?

  7. Got a nice lawn that is being invaded by a clover-like week. Back in the U.K. you could just buy Weed and Feed to solve the problem - anyone know of a similar product here.

    Cheers all.

  8. hi all , my local mechanic informs me my 10 year old kawasaki boss needs the valves doing, he says its a big job, too big for him, as it needs both valves and the piston changing, about 4,000 baht

he advised me not to go to mityon as they use cheap parts, said i should try the new kawasaki dealer on sukhimvit

waste of time, did not really understand what i wanted, spoke to their mechanic but i think he only assembles new bikes and fits extras to be honest

anyone had similar work done who can recommend a good bike shop, appreciated
