  1. Word has it they lowered their food and alcohol prices drastically

Stop by and check it out

Instead of having to stop by to "check it out" why can't they get up a proper website (thegamechiangmai.com still redirects to Bangkok site) where people can see what their prices and any specials are?

This is one of the worst business launches I have seen for an establishment trying to compete on this level. They started off on the wrong foot with their exorbitant prices trying to see if they could find enough takers to overpay instead of offering reasonable prices right from the start. It was always going to be a challenge with the high overhead I am sure they have but they should have focused on building goodwill and a steady flow of customers which they did not.

If they are still around next year I will be surprised. Places like this are usually gone within a matter of months after opening and I doubt this will be any different this time. Maybe when they are gone someone with a little more business savvy can open a similar type bar/restaurant and make it work. I wouldn't hold my breath on that one though.

Why you always have to be negative?

    Is your life that bad?

In my opinion 1 website works.

Sizzler has one site that lists all there locations

Why should they post their prices

Go there and check it out yourself. dont be a lazy bitter person

    Why not post their prices?

Are they afraid of scarring people away?

    It seems to be working.

Every restaurant in CM posts their menu and prices online, even Le Crystal the 5 star French joint.

This attitude is doing them no favours whatsoever, no skin off my nose, nor anyone else giving comments here. It's called "constructive criticism".

  2. To compare Chiang Mai to Melbourne is pure madness.

Melbourne has wide and accessible footpaths and the motorbikes do not cause any hindrance to pedestrians. It is designed to get them off the road freeing up parking spaces or loading zones.

Here they park on footpaths out of laziness, no other reason.

  3. There are a seemingly large number of high rolling expats who hang out driving their Harley's at the X-Centre in Mae Rim.Believe it or not, there's probably a few to the south of the river too

There is, but not enough to keep this place afloat.

  4. Only seen and bought the flat bottom ones. I can tell you now you won't get them here. I've looked in every nook and cranny. Perhaps I'm wrong, a first time for everything.thumbsup.gif

Where have you seen the flat bottom ones, please? I've been looking for those myself.

Rimping Nim City had them last i looked. Bakermart on CM -Lamphun Rd had them too.

  5. I popped in. 95B a pint of Leo anytime and the guy who looked like he was managing the place said the prices were clearly unsuitable and a new menu would be out shortly.

I thought it offered something different, comfortable, staff were pleasant. I'll go back, hopefully next time I'll be able to justify the price of a pint of Kilkenny.

That's good news. Perhaps a step in the right direction.

Nobody wants it to fail, on the contrary.

  6. Sorry, I've got better things to do than argue with you on whether certain behaviour can be changed or not. Nite nite, and I'm begging you...go to bed NOW!

Wait.. you open a topic on a certain behavior you don't like, and then don't want to discuss if it can be changed or not? rolleyes.gif

Anyway, the below paradise is in Sweden. Hint hint.

Only a fool or a liar wouldn't want CM to look like that.

    Safe, peaceful, clean...

    It's not rocket science.

If you want your town to look for a war zone the middle east still has some choices just for you.

  7. 3BB just called to say that they could organise installation of fibre... - its not offerred per se, but if I want it they'll organise it. That might apply to you too DNaam?

So what are peoples experiences with fiber?

Last time i asked was a whopping 3 days ago. Unless things have changed. Maybe "The Game" have had it installed. lol

If so i would be interested for sure.

  8. http://www.fastfoodmenuprices.com/mcdonalds-prices/

Or last time i was in upstate NY i paid over 10 dollars for a big mac meal.

That also doesn't change anything i said.....mcdonalds still isn't overpriced here.

    Big Mac Value Meal=5.69 USD........

So after upsizing a big mac meal comes to what....182? so that's 5.69 in USD at todays conversion rate.

way to search up mcdonalds prices and prove nothing at all.

It proves they're not over priced here as you suggest.

    It's not rocket science.

  9. That breakfast looks anaemic to me, this place is round the corner from me but it does seem a bit out of place, at least until the new shopping mall is up and running. I'm not sure how much of a selling point 14 Tv's playing different channels is. If the food is so-so and the beer is expensive I cant see it doing so well - unless they run some great specials and work on doing some special food.

if you haven't been there How can you make a judgement

Maybe all these people who are posting negativity are competitors or friends of competitors or people with agendas. Don't believe what others say. Stop by and make your own judgement.

Who is being judgemental assuming we haven't been there yet?

It seems you have your own agenda for / with "The Game".

There won't be a game if they don't get their prices sorted soon.

As we've said, this is not Bangkok.
