It's all good, keep them coming!

Nothing else, just your passport.

I drive both in Bangkok on a regular basis and I can only agree with sotsira above, the major difference is the turning circle (it's much easier to do a U-turn on Sukhumvit with a sedan than with a pick-up).

Thanks very much both of you for your replies. I won't try to handle it, don't worry!! We used to have a rodent problem (car wires being eaten), but it hasn't happened for some time, now I know why.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I had thought about a rat snake too by looking at some pictures on the net. I hope it is.
Unfortunately last time I sent a picture to thailandsnakes I didn't get a reply.
Any other opinion most welcome

And word for word: if you intend to fly, don't forget the ground you used to walk on.

Thanks! And of the three singers above what's the male singers name?
Sorn Sinchai is the male singer.

Hi, here's the YT link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-_TiGiJ4Zc
The title of the song is "Ya mor sang" (medecine to order, I believe), by Sorn Sinchai, Dok Aor and Kantong.

I'd say Amphawa floating market.

I'm/be happy with things that I/you have.
Could be used by someone saying (s)he is happy enough with the things he has, or to say: be happy with what you have, don't try and look for something newer, bigger...
Just my non native personal interpretation.

It's probably not what OP is after, but sawan (สว่าน) can also mean a driller (hand drill).

พิธีการ (phithee gaan) means ceremony.

It's กระเจี๊ยบ or roselle in English. My wife makes some juice from the fruits we have in the garden, it's delicious.

It could be the diameter, I suppose?

I get stuff done all the time. I've had dozens of workers at home. Wouldn't recommend a single one though.

Thanks a lot for sharing the info.

and a nice resteraunt up soi bus station away from the beach turning right and a couple hundred yards on the left
That would be Aroy's restaurant.
You can also try Didine in soi bus station, it's a new restaurant but getting very popular. It's on the right hand side when coming from the beach, some 20 meters inside the soi (above the restaurant is the Golden guesthouse).

What about the bridges that conect the airport to the carpark? Are they going to put glass screens there too??
Actually, yes, the construction has started, they're changing them into enclosed footbridges. It's a shame because I liked the view of the airport when you walked from the car park, though I admit I always held my kids hands when they were very young. It was the only view I liked, once you enter the airport the problems begin, with the overall feeling that everything is not working the way it was originally planned (or, rather, that it was planned so badly that it can't be used practically).

Typical reaction, you write in Thai but she replies in broken English, and basically she's telling you that you shouldn't bother learning Thai, since you are not allowed to make mistakes. Coming from a teacher that should be surprising, but sadly it isn't.

maybe ขี้ฟ้อง, if it indicates a character trait.
Does my name need to be in the tabien baan?

You have your name registered in a blue or yellow book only when you have a full page for your personal details (name, name of the parents, date of birth, ID number, nationality...). Sometimes foreigners are happy to say that they have their name in a blue book when in fact it's only on the first page where it says "name of the house". But "name of the house" doesn't mean the name of the owner, it's just the name given to the house like you could name it "The Cottage". It doesn't have any legal meaning, even if it's a person's name you can sell the house without having to change the name of the house.
