  1. understand it was a joke lol, but regardless, doing it myself is not an option since i want a big mature tree, the kind that likely requires a guy with his own truck/crane
  2. yes, they don't really have much selection in the way of big leafy trees, understandably. Found a really good place on siam country club road with lots of trees, but the prices are stupidly jacked up - 40,000 per tree in some cases, which is ludicrous. Re: Sattahip, as mentioned in my original post that is indeed my plan, but what i am looking for is someone who already has a contact down there that provides this service so i don't need to drive around looking in the wrong places.
  3. Hi all. I want to get a few trees for the backyard - 2 or 3 big ones and a bunch of smaller ones along the back fence. Problem is, everywhere I go here in pattaya proper they seem to be taking the pizz a bit on prices. Has anyone got a company they use, say in sattahip or si racha or similar, that does nice big trees at great prices? Not looking for palm trees, more like the big leafy ones that provide a lot of shadow. Thanks in advance for any leads. while we're at it, if you all have any good suppliers of topsoil or lanscaping rocks that would be helpful too
  4. hi all. I know that the J&J vaccine is not available at any of the free clinics here in thailand, but i'm wondering if anybody knows of any locations where you can get it if you're willing to pay? I have no political beliefs one way or another, i just never bothered to get the jab yet, and now i have a job opportunity overseas that requires me to be fully vaxed, and i want the fastest option (J&J is single dose, and approved for use in thailand). thanks for any info
  5. any idea what bank? every bank we asked wants actual pay slips from a thai employer, not just deposits unfortunately
  6. Hi all. I have a query i hope one of you might have direct knowlege of. My situation : - have fully paid off 4 million baht home - home is in wife's name - wife is a housewife and therefore does not have salary slips - can show however the track record of money i give her - also have paid off car worth 600k Now.... my house has an extra plot of land next door. I want to use some of the equity in the house to finance an upgrade, as in a redo of the back garden. only looking for a small portion of the value of the house (maybe 500k) as an overdraft or home equity line of credit. Want it like that so i can pay it back as quickly as i want without penalties, and then retain the line of credit for any future emergencies or whatnot. In my country this would be extremely simple since the collateral is worth way more than the amount requested. but here it seems all the banks a) will not consider my income b) want my wife to have an employment history DESPITE the amount we want being a small fraction of the value of the home. c) most banks want 3k to 5k fee just to look at your application successful or not, which is absurd. anybody aware of some more reasonable bank that does this sort of thing? in my country i would just get a good mortgage broker or personal banker to find me a good deal, but here everything seems so convoluted. And my wife is not very banking savvy so she isn't much help. Any info appreciated. Best would be if any of you have an actual banker you've used that cuts thru the bs and actually gets things done.
