I guess most of the replies are from people who live in the north.
It is the Chiang Mai forum

Build a 2 storey house. In the hot season, the upstairs will be hot during the day, cool downstairs. Night time, open windows to let in the cool air. Exhaust fan in bedroom ceilings to expel hot air, suck in cool air. Works well unless outside air is smoke / smog
If you're relying on solar power, AC probably wont be an option.
Opening windows during the daytime in hot season may create a breeze, but it'll be like sitting in front of a hair dryer. Open windows in morning to let cool air in, close all windows when it's hot out.

"Good" and "Cheap" rarely go together.
Just to let you know you really pissed off my budgie when he read that comment.
Bigbamboo, please leave your "budgie" out of this......

Bought a New Gas Mower and after 9 Months of use the Hoses rotted, Carb started leaking gas, Gas tank sprang a leak and now won't even attempt to start...9000 Baht in the toilet..Warranty is a Joke...Made in Germany the sticker states but China could make a Much better Mower in my opinion..
Went back to the old fashion Push mower with no wires-No gas just Push and watch the blades spin...
What brand was the engine? Was the "made in Germany" sticker on the engine or the chassis?

For most yards the gas mower is overkill.
If most "yards" are what you get on housing projects, I agree. OP says 100 square wah, I think - that's 400 square meters.

Tram system would be excellent idea. Have one in Sheffield, UK. Narrow roads same as here. Only difference is that here they would have to ban & enforce parking along roads with trams. Most road such as the radials leading in & out of town are quite wide. The problem is, people park their cars in the inside lanes, taking up one lane in each direction. One solution might be to have one way roads into & out of town. eg Charoen Muang "in", Kaenawarat "out" etc. Chotana probably wide enough for 2-way. Tram lines can be driven on, thou' in the wet scooters might be skidding on them .
Trams from Hangdong, CMU, Mae Rim, Doi Saket, San Kamphaeng very feasible.
Main problem is 3rd world mentality here. The trams would just get bogged down in traffic, as everyone ignores the rules, & does as they please.

If your 100 sqw = 100 talang wah, go for a petrol mower. Look for a smaller one, try Montri, SE corner of Chotana intersection on superhighway. Briggs & Stratton 3.75hp will be good enough. Bought mine 10 yrs ago, still running. Little maintenance required, best to do yourself - youtube has great videos. Recently changed the carburettor gaskets. Very easy job after watching youtube Very easy to start, wifey can do it
btw my "garden" is over 2 rai, but bought the mower when we had one more your size.

Truck is 11 months old, and the free insurance will expire soon. Is it possible to insure in my name, even though the truck is in my wife's name? The insurer I use for my old truck (still have) offered a good discount when I asked for a quote last year, due to my long "no claims bonus". Asking here before I approach my insurer.

Coincidentily I was talking to an African freelancer in a Pattaya bar yesterday afternoon and we spent most of the time talking about the beaches in Ghana and Tanzania and why Thailand didn't replicate the beach bar atmosphere with the music, girls and dancing...
African freelancer?
code?
huh?

That's perfectly OK......now you'll have people wondering if they're high profile or not.
... and getting a little concerned at the realization that they do probably qualify as "high profile on Thaivisa".
Hi-pro rather than hi-so?

I'm visiting UK next month. Is it possible to renew my son's UK passport while over there? Obviously this is to save money on the "inflated" prices we have to pay if done from here in Thailand. My son WILL NOT be travelling to UK.
Has anyone done this or am I just going to create problems & get passport refused & fee kept by passport office?

Mission accomplished @ KSK. A choice of colours too
Only posted after not finding it yesterday at DIY notso super Thai Watsadu. Do 7-11 really sell it?
You planning a bank job.....is this to tie the manager to the chair?
OK I watch too many movies.
Actually, it's to truss my son up like a chicken & gag him, so he fits in my suitcase for a trip to UK. Have you seen the cost of tickets & British passports bought overseas......

Thai birth certificate, Thai parent's ID & house book is all that's needed I think. You need copy of your passport too. They take the photos. They post the passport less than a week later. Cost around 1000bt? A hell of a lot easier & cheaper than getting the UK passport.

JC why don't you get on of those 2 wheel carts that farmers tow behind their motorbike? You can then use it around the garden as a hand cart.

Thanks chaps. I'm heading to KSK later so will check there first. At least it is sold here.
-
Do they even sell it here? I assume they do, but a trip to Thai Watsadu on the superhighway proved negative. Heading in to town this afternoon, so if anyone knows where they definitely sell it, I'll avoid a runaround.
Also known as GAFFER tape.
Thanks in advance.

What a f***** nightmare it must be "Trying to do business with Thais". I would not waste my time and I dont see why others do, you can invest your money in your own country in property or even a bank depsoit and get a good return to live in LOS compared to the "hit and miss lifestyle" you have to live over there and the Thais do it because they know there is no recourse. Keep your money and investments at home where they are safe and money flows are predictable.
Can you please recommend a good bank deposit in UK that pays a good return?

Don't Vixol and the other acid cleaners dissolve the grout? Best to use bleach, & if that doesn't work use the acid to remove a layer of grout/dirt.
Buying a MULCHING push lawn mower in Cnx
in Chiang Mai
Posted
Never seen them here. Prefer to have my mower collect the clippings, so that any seeding weeds are removed from the lawn, rather than left in place to propagate.
