If you don't want to drive through central Bangkok and cross the Krung Thonburi bridge, then there's a motorcycle ferry below Bang Krachao. Should save some time. Here it is on the map:

I'll take the ferry. Can you ride on the southern ring road apart from crossing the bridge. is it an upper and lower expressway? Cheers.

NO. It is elevated and there is nothing underneath. You'll have to use Bangna-Trat or the old Sukhumvit (if you are not in a hurry) . When you get to the end of Bangna-trat you have a choice of going to either ferry. What bike do you ride? If you have a very large bike , say, BMW 1200 and are not super confident about maneuvering on tip toes on a 1.5m wide path then take the one in the picture above. https://goo.gl/maps/s3dLRzvo4iC2 . But otherwise take the "other" one which is nearer the end of Bangna-trat.

Don't forget to save the western location https://goo.gl/maps/abRXfy42ybC2 of the ferry terminal on whatever device you have. Coming back it might be more difficult to find!

I believe, although there are always motorbikes on it, that the bridge is still off limits to bikes. That being said the amount of time spent on the bridges is very small so one would probably get away with it.?  Use google maps directions selecting no highways and no tolls as options.

The wait for the ferry might be a pleasant break?
