The Wall Street Journal recently recalled that the United States had repaid to Iran 1, 7 billion dollars for military contracts concluded under shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi remained unapplied.

The exact amount was always in dispute, but more importantly it could have been released slowly.  That is to test whether Iran would live up to the spirit of the deal.  Instead, Obama wanted to buy out the hostages.

Since then Iran has taken more American hostages.    Of course, they need more money. Their economy is falling apart. My solution is for Trump to start taking Iranian hostages and stick them in GB, Cuba.

Then we can negotiate for "swaps" like we did with the old USSR.

Yes, taking Iranian hostages should work.   They hold the general citizens in such high regard.

Stock market is rebounding nicely. My money is on Trump.

Bet on Trump?  When he said he's a genius in a stable he didn't mean he was a race horse.  More of a demented donkey, or the confused nag that hobbles out of the gates in the wrong direction, blames every one else for his losing, but still loudly pushes his way into the winners enclosure, shouting how he deserves the prize while the losers who backed him are all trying to claim they have the winning ticket.

A useful tool for monitoring Trump's idiocracy.

The “new normal” of American politics is not normal. The Weekly List reminds us of that. On a weekly basis, the List tracks specific news stories representing eroding norms under the current regime. Taken together, they reveal a nation pushed towards authoritarianism, the wielding of unchecked governmental authority by one person or group at the expense of the freedom of those who oppose them.

Obama was a bungler and imposter. And now the current potus has to clean up his mess.

Sent from a so called Smartphone using an App.

Right, cozying up to autocrats, offending allies, constantly lying, driving the deficit through the roof, revealing highly classified foreign intelligence to Russia...oh wait, that's Trump.

But I do agree that the current POTUS needs to clean up his mess.

"The President's improving issue ratings come amid a sharp rise in positive impressions of how the country is doing. Overall, 57% say things are going well in the US today -- up from 49% saying the same in February -- which is the largest proportion to say so since January of 2007"

Public opinion is crucial for the mid-terms 2018 and for the Presidential Election in 2020. Most Americans are feeling good about how the country is going ,the highest in 11 years.

While many of us including me would like nothing more than to see the ridiculous corrupt demagogue "trump" kicked to the curb and back to his golden tower of dreck (or wherever) but here is a more sober analysis on where we're at now REALISTICALLY as far as impeachment --

Quote

WASHINGTON POSTIs there a danger in normalizing impeachment talk?

We currently lack a national, bipartisan consensus to remove Trump from office. Further, the risks of attempting a divisive impeachment at this moment are painfully high. The key question, in our view, is how best to restrain Trump and undo the damage he has caused to our democratic system. In answering that question, it is hardly self-evident — at least, at this point — that advocating impeachment is the savviest or most effective path forward.

Nixon was not impeached for illegally bombing Laos, but for a bungled cover-up of a burglary to give him an edge in the Presidential election.

Reagan illegally sold arms to Iran in order to get hostages released, then used the proceeds to illegally fund a war in Nicaragua.  No impeachment.  Bush Jr started a war on false pretenses and bungled both wars he got the US into.  No impeachment.  Under the pretext of investigating a real estate deal, Clinton was investigated for a consensual BJ in the Oval Office then impeached for denying this was sex.  He was impeached.

Sorry, but since Republicans are willing to impeach whenever it appeals to their base, then they've got to expect their presidents to start getting impeached when they commit major crimes.  If Trump was elected due to illegal foreign interference in the election, or is using the Presidency to enrich himself, or is simply so clueless and incompetent as to put the nation at risk, he should be impeached.

Oh how the WH loves the military! Better to cover up than incite the masses.

Trump officials worried about 'public relations nightmare' over contaminated drinking water near military bases

The chemicals have already been found in drinking water and groundwater at levels beyond what EPA says is safe near 126 U.S. military locations.

Trump is more popular than Dems want to admit  by W. Brown former Democrat Mayor of San Francisco.

"Like it or not, a significant number of Americans are actually happy these days. They are making money. They feel safe, and they agree with with the president’s protectionist trade policies, his call for more American jobs, even his immigration stance".

"Willie Lewis Brown Jr. (born March 20, 1934[1]) is an American politician of the Democratic Party. Brown served over 30 years in the California State Assembly, spending 15 years as its speaker and later served as the 41st mayor of San Francisco, the first African American to do so".

Keep up your hysterical obsessive hatred ,they only enforce what American's voted for. American's don't want to go back to  the same old ,same old.Traditionally, Americans stay away from politics when the economy ,jobs and national security are doing well. The stock market , increase in jobs, lowest unemployment and Isis Caliphate destroyed.

It is said, the insanity has risen from the left, enough for checking into a 12 step program.

That's your take from the linked article, eh? Mine is that he is repeating what reasonable people have said since the election. Dems need to produce a coherent policy, and not rely on just dissing 45.

I hope Trump does well with North Korea and brings them even moreso into the peaceful international community.  I wonder what they will have to offer.  NK-Pop,  food culture,  hidden technologies... We will see. For Trump to stop at this stage would be quite the anti climax.

Same old same old. When the economy is weak, right wingers say lower taxes. When the economy is strong right wingers say lower taxes. Lowering taxes is magic. It will pay for itself! That lie has repeatedly been exposed since the time of Reagan. But if you live in the right wing bubble, facts are something you don't have an opportunity to get acquainted with.

Why are you answering me about lowering taxes! No mention of that in my post!

I agree about the coherent policy. I just hope it doesn't go to far left .American's aren't ready for socialism, otherwise B.Sanders would of won. Of course that's if they win !

Ummm, Bernie didn't run in the general election.

He wouldn't have won anyway, DT would have done a character assassination based on, uh, foreskin, 'protocols,' etc.

Just how stupid is this "trump" character?

HIV vs. HPV.

Pretty much any educated person knows they are not the same thing.

Especially a wealthy American that has been a promiscuous man slut for most of his life.

But this "trump" -- not only did he not know, he was told once, and had to ask again.

Quote

Bill Gates says that Trump asked him the difference between HIV and HPV

...

However, a tweet from MSNBC host Chris Hayes, whose program "All In With Chris Hayes" shared the footage, gives us a clue: "Bill Gates says that in *both* meetings he had with Trump, Trump asked if HPV and HIV were the same thing," tweeted Hayes.

Sounds like Trump needed reassurance. I guess he has HPV then.
