Hat Yai airport taxis protest against new regulation

About 70 taxis were on Saturday barred from entering Hat Yai airport to pick up passengers after they staged a protest against the new airport taxi service operator.

Some 70 cabbies parked their cars along the shoulder of the road leading to the airport in the southern township of Hat Yai to protest against a new regulation issued by the new airport taxi service operator who was granted the concession to operate the airport taxi service.

The new regulation requires the cabbies who used to operate at the airport to apply for new stickers from the Metered Taxi Cooperatives.

Metered Taxi Cooperatives.

It's a joke! Meter, what meter, they never turn the damn things on, the fare from the airport is fixed at Bht250 into town.

Non-meterered Taxi Uncooperative.

Take the AOT limo service, it's only Bht50 more, better vehicle, less hassle.
