Searching For a Quality Chiropractor in Thailand

I've searched and searched and it seems that Pattaya is very short of chiropractors.

I've seen Dr. Pack and never would again. It was a waste of time. I wanted a simple adjustment and he wouldn't do it without X-rays.

He was also very, very strange. I just didn't feel comfortable with him.

Does anyone know of a good, quality chiropractor in the Pattaya area (preferably American).

I'm about ready to go to Bangkok just to get my back adjusted.

This one is in Bangkok

Many people knew the place as "Dr. Don" who was the boss of that clinic for many years. Unfortunately he passed away about a year ago.

I was there maybe 10 month ago and as far as I could see the guy in charge knew what he was doing.

For anybody who misses Dr. Don: http://www.rafu.com/don-nakaya-nielsen/

Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.

Chiropractic. : a system of therapy which holds that disease results from a lack of normal nerve function and which employs manipulation and specific adjustment of body structures (as the spinal column)

For those who may not know.????

Yes, thanks. Familiar with the differences.

A chiropractor can adjust you and you'll leave just fine.

With therapy it is usually over a number of sessions.

Depends on the assessment, Chiropractors can recommend a course of treatment too. ????

This guy is very well known in Bangkok expat circles and has been the savior of several people I know including myself.

http://thailandchiropractor.com/

He is arguable the ONLY chiropractor worth seeing in Thailand. When Thai doctors were telling me I needed an operation on my neck (and was wearing a neck brace) someone recommended to try this guy.

It took several visits over 5 to 6 weeks but he completely fixed my neck problem (as he had for the person that told me about him).

i have tried many others and can honestly assure you that you are wasting your time...even Dr Pack said he was no Dr Mark and not to expect the same results when I saw him once.

Trust me on this recommendation...really.

How many chiropractors do you know in Thailand?

Your guy might be good or even very good but I don't like sentences like above without any reasonable evidence.

I.e. Dr. Don was a great chiropractor in Bangkok and I know lots of people who visited him and were exited about his treatment. But that doesn't mean he was the only person like that in a country with over 60 million people...

Because I've had tremendous success with chiropractors.

Thanks anyway.

No problem, always willing to help a sufferer ... so chiro guy improved your problem but it has lapsed again ... sometimes the problem is an imbalance/weakness in certain muscles ... TBH I'm not surprised that the guy you saw wouldn't 'crunch your bones' without first understanding your problem ... it would probably have been better to take your x-rays with you ... just a thought...

Try Nigel on Soi Bongkot.

Or there is another chiropractor on North Pattaya Rd. From Sukhumvit Rd travel along North Pattaya Rd. On the left hand side there is a small Soi. Along there is a sign to a chiropractor. I can’t remember what number the Soi is.

+1 for Nigel Kelsey

N Pattaya - I think that used to be where Dr Pack was?

Totally agree with you, Mark Leoni is an excellent Chiropractor, have known him for some 20 years since he first started in Bangkok. Have tried others but none of them helped.

Yes, it is standard practice - and highly advisable - to review xray before manipulating the spine. Serious harm could be done otherwise if the patient had a spinal fracture, for example.

very true as well as other potential issues as subluxation, abnormally low bone density, intervertebral spacing or suspicion of possible metastatic disease. likely the radiologists can think of more things to look for.

Appreciate you are looking for a chiro but have you considered blind massage in Pattaya. I had 10 years of both chiro and physio and then tried the blind massage in Naklua. Asked for someone who was very good with backs and got the owners son. Had 2 visits and fixed. One year later had a twinge and went back once more. Totally resolved now for last 15 years.

Always had excellent service and results from David Pack so I'm very surprised by the opening comment.

Of course he needs an x-ray,  how else could he know what your problem is.

Made an enquiry once with the guy in Bangkok, turned out the price was going to be 3 times higher, so I carried on with David Pack.

On my first visit I was almost unable to walk, now I haven't needed to see him for the past 4 years.

Not necessarily true. I've used chiropractors in the past in the US and inevitably treatment extended to a number of visits in each case, often with follow-up appointments scheduled after that.

I would think that would qualify as a vote of confidence in him knowing that he wasn't going to muck about without the information he would get from an x-ray.

I've seen Mark when I was in Bangkok. In fact he even treated my dog!

Mark is awesome. He's just not in Pattaya. I wish he was.

Go hospital get x-ray then they will refer you to a chiropractor.

With similar problems my best success was with an Osteopath, Dr Philip Hambly at Ratchakru Medical Centre in Phahayotin, Bangkok.  You can Google him.  I tried one of the other recommended people only and had no improvement.  Dr Hambly improved me on the first treatment.  I had two initial treatments and one only follow up. With his advice I am self managing at this stage very well.
