Automatic Exposure Metering

It's quite simple to set the meter operating time, but I don't know the purpose of the differences.

Anyone any idea?

The camera is a "Pentax *ist DL".

Thanks for that link Crossy. There's more info (and easier to understand) on that site than in 200 odd pages of the manual.

Although I did like this entry in the manual's troubleshooting section:

Problem: The power zoom system does not function

Cause: The camera does not have the power zoom function

Remedy: Use manual zoom.
