Russian Tourists Swept Away by Waves at Koh Samui Viewpoint
Two Russian tourists are missing after being swept into the sea by powerful waves at a scenic viewpoint on Koh Samui, despite warning signs advising against entering the area. The incident occurred this afternoon (29 November 2024) when a Russian woman drove a red car to the Laad Viewpoint in Bo Phut, Koh Samui. She and a male companion ventured down to the rocks below the viewpoint with a pink inflatable mat. At the time, the sea was extremely rough, with waves reaching heights of 3 to 4 metres. While the pair were on the rocks, a strong wave struck, pulling both into the sea. Rescue teams, including marine police and volunteers equipped with jet skis, were quickly dispatched but have yet to locate the missing tourists. The viewpoint has prominent warning signs highlighting the danger of venturing below the viewing area, but some visitors continue to ignore them, leading to incidents like this. Authorities are continuing their search efforts, but hopes of finding the two alive are diminishing as time passes, reported MGR online. Picture courtesy: MGR online -- 2024-11-30 -

Fishing Vessel Sinks Off Sattahip Coast, Crew of Ten Rescued Safely
Picture as it sunk under the waves. The Pattaya Regional Marine Department received a report of the sinking of a fishing vessel, Sahachai 6 (Registration No. 270929991), in the waters near Samae San, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. The vessel, a coastal motor fishing ship with a registered gross tonnage of 71, was anchored approximately 5 nautical miles east of Samae San Island when it began taking on water. Owned by Mr. Pallop Chitprasan and Mr. Peera Chitprasan, the vessel was awaiting a fishing operation when the crew noticed water entering the hull. Despite efforts to pump out the water, the rapid influx overwhelmed the system, causing the ship to sink. All ten crew members managed to escape safely and were picked up from the water by other local vessels and brought ashore without injuries. Authorities confirmed there was has so far been no oil spill or environmental damage from the incident. The Marine Department continues to monitor the situation and will investigate the cause of the water ingress to ensure future safety measures are implemented. File picture of the boat -- 2024-11-30 -

Consumer injured by glass in spaghetti at Thai pizza chain
I am guessing the the customer cannot name the Company but they serve Pizza...….🍕😆 I am not defending the Pizza chain but I work in the food service industry and accidents do happen, I am sure this was not intentional and as mentioned the restaurant will take care of medical cost if required. -

New visa exempt arrivals
A friend of mine got told yesterday that this was his last time entering visa exempt. He spent a week in Vietnam before arriving. The reason he stays in Thailand for longer periods of time is because he trains muay thai on a high level, something he told the IOs as well. They wanted him to get a DTV for muay thai for next entry. The previous time he entered was also "the last time" according to the IO, so I don't know what the real last time is... but he probably shouldn't push it. Just a FYI for anyone in a similar situation. -

People who take blood-thinners maybe should avoid that unnamed restaurant.
