(Photo by Handout / ROYAL THAI GOVERNMENT / AFP) By Thai PBS World’s Political desk Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s communication style has never been impressive, especially when it comes to tackling crises like the COVID-19 outbreak that hit the country early last year. His regular address to the nation often draws criticism and has done little to boost public confidence in the government. His 23-minute televised speech on Friday (April 16) disappointed the public again at a time when the country is tackling its third and fastest-growing wave of infections. The latest outbreak has now spread to all 77 provinces with cases rising daily. On Sunday (April 18), the daily caseload had hit a record 1,767. Popular Post ThailandRyan
He is not a people person, and is more inclined to give orders and see people jump immediately at his wishes. No sense of humor at all, and gets very butthurt when he is questioned. Did I miss anything, other than he acts very dictatorial and probably would be happy having a pulpit to sit in like the Pope. Looking at plans for the new Government house recently I wondered if he was trying to make a Thai version of the Vatican. Self absorbed in my view., but hey he has those that worship the ground he walks on.
Popular Post Thaiwrath
But instead of focusing on measures and easing fears over a potential curfew and lockdown, or even assuring the public about vaccines, Prayut complained about his critics, made sarcastic comments about anti-government protesters and defended himself. He also made some irrelevant references which left the public confused. The man is a clown, unfit to be an alleged politician, never mind running a country. Time to go ! If they had a democracy here, he wouldn't stand a chance. 20

Popular Post Marvin Hagler
I was genuinely shocked when I saw his first speech a few years back. There was no modulation or emphasis in his speech at all, no finesse whatseoever. He just gets up on the stand, reads very quickly off a video prompter in a monotone voice and then gets off the stand. Quite bizarre. All of his speeches are like that. No presence or charisma whatsoever.

Hundreds of thousands of people were marching in front of their beloved leader (Stalin) while he was receiving the love from his people by standing on a high podium. People pointed out how nice he was by waving them back because he could have just ordered fusillade instead. This is why no army personnel should be leading any country. Ever. OK, Prayut is as good a leader as any other country has. Does it matter how he got that position? Before him was Thaksin (and his proxies), he seemed to do a slightly better job, but not that much better. faraday
On 8th April the Thai Enquirer reported that he said, when talking about the virus: " Whatever happens, happens" I haven't linked the quote, dunno if it's "against forum rules" to do. Let me know, dearest mods.????

Most 'western' leaders you can vote out and don't pre elect senators or whatever to rig the voting later. We can change them , Thailand cannot now.

You might be able to change them, but only the face is different, they all went to private schools, use private health care, come from wealthy and entitled families, have never really worked in normal jobs and really aren't connected to the general population. Sunderland
I had the weirdest dream last night that I met Prayuth, his wife and some other relative on a bus in Cornwall and he asked me to show him the sights of Padstow as he couldn't speak much English. I've never lived in Cornwall and I've certainly never been to Padstow. However, I agreed to do my best to show him around in the hope of having my visa extended.

Tea just runs through me like water. I do like a cup or two of Earl Gray, and English Breakfast, to get it just right I have to steep it for almost 5 minutes and then add some cream to it to cut the bitterness that a long steep creates, sort of like the Bitterness that Prayut has been putting in peoples mouths over the past 7 years, or was that bile.

Thats Bile, and no amount of Cream or Milk will cut through that bitterness. I really like a good cup of Assam Tea cuts it for me.
