Its shocking to me that all luggage is not also seperated into its own room, who knows what it came in contact with during travel!

How can they possibly allow you to keep the clothes and shoes you arrived in? Surely they hold a risk of contamination and you should be stripped naked and led into disinfectant showers upon arrival, while your clothes are being burned. In addition, all should be shaved as hair can be hard to fully clean and may, forbid the thought, catch floating molcules of bs.1.5,365 or fo.5.1.547...or aome other vafiant...the horror

Sarcasm aside if his arrival was anything like mine I doubt any virus could survive. My luggage was thoroughly drenched prior to being loaded into the hotel van. I then nearly suffocated from disinfectant fumes in the sealed rear of the van along with my luggage during the 30 minute trip to the ASQ.

On arrival at the hotel my luggage was again drenched in disinfectant. I was then made to stand on a disinfectant soaked mat and then had my shoes covered in disposable booties prior to entering the hotel.

Your sarcasm just makes you look foolish.

You do know that the first human infection was supposedly transmitted from an animal, do you?

You do know that cats and dogs and other animals can be infected by the virus, do you?

As I stated in my post the risk of the virus being transmitted between domestic animals and humans is considered low, but there is still a risk.

They should stop all those with the Curmudgeon Virus, which Kuma obviously has, from entering the country.... 😆

Its actually been quite enlightening, watching persons blinded by 3M, the absolute demise of critical thinking and ability to research..and the sad numbers of people that resultingly live their lives in an envelope of irrational fear...which will haunt most forever as it becomes increasingly clear what has occured, but fools pride will stop many from recognizing they have been played, and then it will be that which will haunt them for the balance of what could  be a curmudgeonly (sp? 555) existence.

Cheers from mask free, jab free, virus free, madness free paradise....though to the above op on species to species trans, ....ah never mind, not worth the effort.

Good Sunday all, happy mothers  day. My sweet mother is now with pops but I know what she would say about all this, never mind the man.

Really, is that the process. What a total nightmare, and totally unnecessary on top if it. Sorry you had too endure that. So happy to be living in paradise here and not headed anywhere unless ...

We are married with a Marriage Certificate from the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila. You must have a Certificate to stay in the same room/apt.

Just booked the same place... looks good. Do you know their policies on alcohol? Is it available to buy?

And any restrictions on ordering stuff from Lazada? Cheers

You can order from anywhere. But no booze in ANY ASQ.

Hmmm... OK thanks David.

Did they search your luggage? I'm wondering if I should buy a bottle in duty free just to kill a bit of time in the evenings.

You couldn’t order anything from outside in the ASQ hotel I was at first two weeks of March this year....

maybe they just didn’t want to deal with it but that was in Their book of rules I got to read on entering the room. and nothing delivered by friends or relatives but things change day by day!

I think the Thai rules are the same for everyone but each hotel uses them as it works best for them🤪

After 4 periods of Quarantine, key requirements:

1) Reliable internet

2) Microwave

3) Decent food*

3) Floor to ceiling windows

4) Bath Tub

5) 45 sqm+ (ideally 60sqm with separate living room)

6) Positive Staff (last ASQ I was in there was 100B charge for a 7-11 trip which irritated the £$%# out of me - the last place I was in I had 3 arguments with the staff about really pathetic things, later sorted out by the manager who was more professional).

Advice: Take your your own metal knife and fork (if the hotel is only going to provide plastic).

*The latest ASQ I stayed was the most comfortable and highest standard of ASQ but had poor quality food - the quality of food makes a big difference.

Can you tell us the places you have used?

What were their cancellation policies like?

I initially stayed at Amara in BKK in sept which was a decent room and J hotel pattaya in Feb but i'm looking for a studio or 1 bedroom place. A friend on mine recommended Somerset on Rama 9 and another recommennded Citrus suites....both look of but i'm not keen on cancellation policies...

Thx

Actually they did not search our luggage. But I am in a wheelchair and we just flew through customs and immigration.

My wife did State quarantine a month or so back after arriving from Hong Kong.

No baggage checked but was asked if she had any alchohol.

Oh no she said.

But being Thai she had completely forgotten the 5L cask of red wine in the bottom of her suitcase.

Got her through the 15days.....that and Thai soapies on TV.

None of that happened to any of us that went from airport to hotel.

Luggage all looked after by people from hotel...nice vehicle very comfortable....answered a few questions when we arrived at hotel and before entering and escorted to the room (I think they may have had booties for us)...nice lunch and orange juice waiting in the room at 1 am!

Some people do seem to have a rough time of it....

Our sliding glass door on our balcony was open. Though it is very cramped with the A/C unit there, you could still get a view....
