Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine not yet approved in Thailand due to lack of data

the first vax tour to russia is in july and it's 2x more expensive then to the USA. Some $7k.

Probably they will come back to phuket sandbox and have 2 weeks holiday on the beach.

To russia there is no visa and the shortest flight is some 6h (vladivostok, no change for time zone, so no jet lag)

Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine is yet to be approved by Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (TFDA), as vital data remains missing, the organisation said today

Vladivostok is +3 hours, Novosibirsk is in the same time zone. 4400km vs 4800km.

whatever, it's not intercontinental flight with at least one stopover, tens of hours travelling and some 10 time zones, as in to the USA. Those jab tours offered to the USA are to New York, Las Vegas and some other touristy places

? What nationalities do you refer to? Thai and Laos, OK.

But basically for all of western Europe, UK, USA etc.etc. there are strict visa requirements.

No visa on arrival or even visa exempt.

Purely theoretical for me anyway. Trip to lovely Novosibirsk? No thanks.

of course for thai citizens. Those tours are organised only for them.

They do have choice now.

As do foreigners in thailand wishing to travel in their vax quest to anywhere in the world

Russia Sputnik v is not accepted in the EU neither.

The European Union will delay approval of Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine until later in 2021 because of a missed deadline to submit required data, Reuters reported Wednesday.

Jomtien will never be the same now.

Russians were last bastion against chinese "organised tourists".

And least caring by the way. Bad weather? We going! Right after tsunami? We going! Red shirts bruhaha? We going!

Russians were perfect lab rats for this "reopening". While brit consulting his lawyer if he can go to Los or no, russian is already packing his sleevless shirts and flipflops.

Where did you get that number from?

Not sure that I can find any numbers in the western sources - but I will try to. There are many opinion polls with the result of 60-70% of Russians that decided to not get ANY vaccine. You can find these data in English versions of Russian media resources.
I am from the Novosibirsk region and have had hard times trying to convince my parents, sister, friends school teachers etc that vaccines are not garbage, they really save lives and they should go and get their jab. The common opinion of the society is that vaccines are dangerous and bad things.
There is a lottery among those who has got their jab already. 5 new cars every week in Moscow. Just get a jab and get your new car. It`s a shame to say that people still don't want to get vaccinated and even such tricks don't work.

This is how propaganda works today. They rarely lie. They use much more efficient weapon against people brains. The modern propagandist just "forget to mention something" and show you carefully selected facts only.
"Russians don't want Sputnik" Is it true? Yes. But the following is also true: "65% of Russians are anti-vaxers and don't want ANY vaccine". But this is what the propagandists just "forget to mention". Just because they were paid for putting "Sputnik is bad" message into people brains.

Just possibly Russians mistrust the vaccine because their government launched it before conducting Phase 3 trials. What kind of government cares so little about its citizens that it would do such a thing?

To date, I've heard no news reports about any problems with the Russian vaccine. AFAIK, it has a good reputation in all countries where it is being used, such as with my teaching friend in Mongolia, who received a Sputnik vaccination and is still alive...

A ringing endorsement, from you and your "friend", who is still alive.

Do you think that ordinary folks know what "Phase 3 trial" is ? Just ask your friends in the US - what is "Phase 3 trial"? You will be surprised to see that nobody knows what it is.
