Brian, thank you for the updates as well as @anchadian and @TallGuyJohninBKK.  As we can see and as many have discussed on here for the previous many months, it was only time until we saw the figures

Thailand on Thursday set yet another new record high for daily COVID cases, reporting 13,655 along with 87 new deaths. The tally was Thailand’s sixth record high new case tally in the past seven days.

Had they taken such actions in closing everything and restricting travel before Songkran we probably wouldn't be in the situation we are now. Finally joining COVAX will hopefully help in the vaccine s

That would tell us more about the seriousness of the situation there than does just the gross number of the hospitalized.

Thailand on Friday (July 23) reported 14,575 new COVID-19 cases and 114 additional deaths over the past 24 hours.
