Thailand ranks second in ASEAN for most COVID-19 jabs, sixth for two-dose percentage

Thailand is ranked second to Indonesia among ASEAN member countries for the number of COVID-19 inoculations, with a total of 44,742,049 doses administered by September 20th, but ranks fifth for the percentage of population receiving first doses, and sixth for the percentage of people receiving two doses.

No decision on State of Emergency yet, CCSA may remain – Deputy Government Spokesperson

There has yet to be a decision on whether to extend Thailand’s nationwide State of Emergency, set to expire on September 30th, or whether the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) will remain, Deputy Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek told Thai PBS World on Tuesday.

Expat on Samui says he was threatened with deportation by hospital over Covid bill

ASEAN NOW has spoken to a 47 year old British man who has lived on Koh Samui for many years who claims he received what he believes are threatening emails and telephone calls from a well known hospital on the holiday island after he was diagnosed with Covid-19 last month.

New COVID Cases Won’t Drop Further

Phuket marks 254 new COVID cases, two more deaths

PHUKET: The latest Phuket Provincial Public Health Office (PPHO) daily COVID situation report has marked 254 new local infections confirmed across the island yesterday (Sept 21) bringing the total number of people recognised as infected with COVID-19 in Phuket since Apr 3 to 9,258.

Drug rehab temple closed, probed, amid allegations of human rights abuses

A Thai temple, called “Wat Tha Phu Rat Bamrung” or “Wat Tha Phu”, in Kanchanaburi has been ordered to close its controversial drug rehabilitation facility and is being probed by the Narcotics Control Board, the Public Health Ministry and local authorities, after allegations of ransom, torture and human rights violations surfaced.

Up to 40 Thai youths found with rare “MIS-C” after recovering from COVID-19

Between 30 and 40 Thai youths, who have recovered from COVID-19 infection, have been found to be suffering from multiple-system inflammatory syndrome in children, or MIS-C, and one might have died from the condition, according to Professor Dr. Somsak Lolekha, president of the Royal College of Paediatricians of Thailand.
