The first dose of Covid-19 vaccine was given to 328,431 people, or 72.4 percent of Brunei's population, and 211,380 people (46.6 percent) completed the programme.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham Jaafar made the announcement during the daily press conference in the capital on Sunday night (Oct 10).

On October 9, 6,506 people received a dosage of the Covid-19 vaccine, according to the minister.

Vaccination centres, according to Dr. Mohd Isham, have been closing at 6 p.m. since yesterday.

The Indoor Stadium Immunization Centre will be open everyday for walk-in vaccination from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Monday, October 11th.
Brunei citizens and permanent residents are the only ones who can stroll in.

Vaccinations on Sundays, on the other hand, are nevertheless available to firms on a regular basis for both local and foreign personnel.

On Sunday (October 11), Brunei reported 381 new COVID-19 cases, a daily high, bringing the country total to 8,980.

All of the new cases, according to Brunei's Ministry of Health, are local infections.

While the source of infection for 126 new cases is still being investigated, five new clusters have been discovered, and one cluster has been closed after no new cases were detected for 28 days, bringing the total number of active clusters to 160.

Brunei had gone 457 days without community infections from May 6, 2020, before seven local cases were discovered on Aug. 7.
