Brunei Darussalam is still in the intermonsoon season, and the country's weather is forecast to remain busy through October 25 as rain clouds and thunderstorms develop across the country, resulting in more rainfall.

Thunderstorms are likely to start in the afternoon over inland areas, then spread out and grow more intense as they travel towards the coast and sea areas at night.

Showers can be heavy and windy at times, with wind gusts reaching 45 km/h, according to the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) (Oct 20).

Throughout the week, the sea condition in Brunei seas is normally below 1.0 metre.

When it rains for more than an hour, residents should be aware of the increased risk of flash floods, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as well as near river banks.
During showers and gusty conditions, there is a risk of landslides and fallen trees.

Road users and fishers should be informed about the latest weather forecasts, advisories, and warnings issued by the BDMD, and take actions to guarantee their safety.

The government stated that it would continue to monitor weather conditions and, if required, issue weather advisories or warnings.
Brunei WX, the department's app, provides up-to-date weather information, advisories, and warnings.

The most up-to-date weather information is also available by calling the Duty Meteorological Forecaster at the Forecast Centre at 114, visiting www.met.gov.bn, or following the department on social media at @bruneiweather.
