The RSS Endeavour of the Republic Singapore Navy (RSN) and the Royal Brunei Navy's (RBN) KDB Daruttaqwa conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) on Saturday (Jan 15) as they transited through Sultanate seas while hosting the Midshipmen Sea Training Deployment (MSTD).

All PASSEX planning and coordination meetings were held digitally, with no physical interaction between the two ships, in accordance with Covid-19 rules from the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Health.

Both ships undertook a variety of communications and manoeuvring exercises during the PASSEX as a sign of the RBN and RSN's long-standing friendship.

The ceremony was then concluded with a farewell pass, which involved 'piping the side and lining the deck' to bid farewell and express gratitude for the friendship.

While executing the serials, the PASSEX gave an opportunity for the crew and officers from both navies to improve their drills.
Both captains expressed gratitude and satisfaction with the drills and expressed an interest in future opportunities to improve naval ties.

The RBN is committed to maintaining close ties with the RSN and investigating ways to strengthen capacity in order to achieve the goal of maritime cooperation.
