Sultan stated at the World Government Summit that the world needed to be better prepared to face multi-faceted challenges.

At the World Government Summit (WGS2022) on Tuesday, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, expressed his concern about growing risks to economic and political stability.

He stated that the globe must be better prepared to face "multi-dimensional issues."
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was present at Sultan's speech at the Summit.

In response to the epidemic, Sultan Haji Hassanal noted that while the quick advancement of digital technology had allowed governments, businesses, and educational institutions to continue operating throughout Covid-19, new difficulties were arising, posing a threat to human security.
He stated that growing disparity could not be ignored, that larger threats such as climate change loomed big, and that the hard-won peace was in jeopardy.

"In the words of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, history is a continuous chain of events, and the present is merely an extension of the past," Sultan Haji Hassanal added in this context.

I believe it is critical to continue our shared commitment to a peaceful and prosperous world, especially given recent reminders of the importance of never taking the peace we have worked so hard to achieve for decades for granted."

The Sultan lauded the UAE's efforts and accomplishments in a variety of areas, including youth and women empowerment, renewable energy, and food security, to name a few.
Observing that the UAE has made great economic growth as a result of its intelligent leadership's vision.
In the future, he also wants tighter cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
